A dozen good reasons why you should see The Kenley Home before you decide..,.
No steps to climb.
It's easy does it. This ground -entry
home is all on one floor. It features a
covered front porch and a sheltered
front door. The side patio is just a few
steps away from the kitchen - no running up and
down to the barbecue or for drinks. You'll love it.
I was proud to have assisted

No basement to clean.
The Kenley Home has no basement
to get cluttered, and no place for water
problems- to start. Musty odours are
gone forever! No steps for grand-
children to fall down, and no place for the family
to store their "discards". Yet the floor of the
Kenley Home is warm as toast. Under -
construction includes 2 -inch styrofoam laid over
3 -feet of compacted stone with 2 -inch styrofoam
to a depth of 4 -feet around the outer wall.
Maintenance -free exterior
Put your paint brush away! The
Kenley Home has a maintenance -free
exterior of brick and aluminum. Just
wash the windows (you never need
a ladder!) and then go watch the ball game.
Large skylit foyer
A large foyer, with room to sit down
and take off your boots is shut off
from the main house by glassed
double -doors. Drafts stay where they
belong. A leaded -glass transom over the doors, cat-
ches the sun's rays from the huge skylight in the
roof which makes the foyer a perfect home for your
plants. All this ... and a big closet too!
Space for everyone in the "gathering"
room.
The main feature of the Kenley
Home is the very workable "open
space" it offers. The "gathering room"
is living room, kitchen and dining room, all rolled
into one with plenty of space and lots of light. A
woodburning stove on a natural brick hearth gives
that cosy feeling when you want it, and mom is
always in the centre of things, just the way the
family likes it. No walls to rob you of precious
space or to make conversation difficult. And best
of all, no problems stretching the dining room
table to full-length to seat everyone - comfortably
- at one time.
Roomy kitchen has it all.
Solid oak cabinets are crafted to
order - you do the designing to your
own lifestyle. This super kitchen is
large enough to handlethose mar-
vellous family dinners when everyone helps out.
A centre work area features a split bottom cup-
board to hold kitchen utensils on the kitchen side,
and the "good" dishes behind glass doors on the
dining room side. Overhead, a glass -shelved cup-
board with glass doors on both sides, displays your
very best crystal. This 6 -foot work area doubles
as the perfect smorgasbord table when you are
entertaining the clan or as the bar during a party.
An adjacent pantry cupboard holds a month's
supply of groceries easily - everything at a glance,
no rummaging ever.
Off -kitchen laundry.
Now you see it, now you don't. The
Kenley Home laundry is compact, con-
venient and closeted when not in use.
Complete with overhead storage
shelves for sheets, pillowcases, towels, face -
clothes. Just fold and put away right there where
you are. This laundry is handy to everything; it
eliminates that long-distance running between
wash loads - and after.
Your own private corner.
The Kenley Home gives you a place
to get away from it all in a quiet,
bright office/workroom for the com-
puter, your hobbies, reading, keeping
household accounts or just plain pottering around.
Close to the kitchen so you can watch dinner cook•
ing while you work. Add a pull-out couch and you
have another "private" sleeping space when
everyone's at home.
Two bedrooms with a purpose.
The master bedroom takes a king-
sized bed and features a walk-in closet
with plenty of hanging rods and
storage shelves. Room for everything!
An ensuite 4 -piece bathroom ensures full privacy
from mom and dad even when the whole family
is at home.
The guest room is spacious enough fora Queen -
sized bed and a crib for grandchildren. The closet
here is d -e -e -p with lots of room for a fold -away
playpen or a cot, off-season clothes, bulky
Christmas decorations, you name it..
Large family bathroom
It's just off the gathering room but
close to the guest bedroom. It features
a smart corner shower stall with mir-
rored door to provide a full-length
view. The big vanity with sink is well lit for com-
plete make-up jobs ... or quick repairs. And, this
bathroom is large enough to accommodate a plant
collection that thrives in a steamy, sunny
atmosphere. -
One great garage.
The Kenley Home has a fully finish-
ed garage so you can turn on the heat
and work on your favourite project in
complete comfort, no mat-
tiei what the weather outside. Lots and lots of
storage shelves and a place to keep your winter's
supply of wood. Room for your car and your hob-
by. And mom - there's just one step up from the
garage to the kitchen when you are bringing home
the groceries. Less lugging.
Double -duty den
The Kenley den, tucked neatly
behind the kitchen and off the laundry,
offers a sunny retreat for watching
television, talking on the telephone or
taking a nap. It has closet space for weekend
visitors, and is the perfect place to use as a play
room when the grandchildren are at home. Like
everything else in the Kenley home, it's planned
to function.
