Schmidt rolls 1505 in intertown competition The Goderich Mens Intertown Bowling Team played at home this week against the team from Mitchell. Goderich had a super week taking 40 points out of 48, main- taining their position of first place in the league over the second place Mitchell team. The Goderich Team of Dennis Schmidt, Jerry Rivett, Steve Allen, Dick McLean, Jerry Ross, Art Burt and John Miller have been league champions the past two years and seem to be headed for another great year. The League covers from Goderich to New Hamburg and over to Lucan. This year's outstanding performances have been turned in by all members of the team. John Miller with a 399 single and Jerry Ross averaging 256. This week Dennis Schmidt topped the leagues high five games with a 1505 total. He opened with a 239, picked up a 266 in his second, rose to 325 in the third, only to out- do with a 339 in the fourth and 336 in the fifth. This should also bring Dennis into the top five averages in the league. Also this week John Miller rolled a 385 in a last game substitution. Ladies Inter -Town The Goderich Ladies Inter -Town Bowl- ing Team leads their League over last year's champions Lucan. Goderich with 175 points this far into the season and Lucan trailing closely with 160. The Ladies Team consists of Del Mit- chelmore, Marg Moore, Barb Chapman, Del Geddes, Shirley Schmidt and June Horton. Goderich played Zurich this week with a 21-9 victory. Great performances have been turned in by Barb Chapman with the leading average of 230, followed by Shirley Schmidt 228 and Del Geddes 225. Del Mit- chehnore reached into the high single category with a 312. Wed. Afternoon Ladies Leisure League The Blue Water Belles took five points from The Salt Shakers. Pat Tonks rolled a 222 and Shirley Kennedy 719 triple. The Beacons faded and gave up five points to the Graders who were helped by Elsa Fickert 204-218 and Penny Breen 202. Sharon Sanders came up with 229 but the Hurons went down with the Sunsets taking five points. Goderich Harbor took seven points from the Squares. The West Wind changed direction and gave up seven points to the Lighthouse Keepers who were helped 133, Brenda Dineen 235-220-648. The Schooners bumped the Beach Bums and took five points helped by Marie Park's score 211-238-617 triple. Dianne Scott .202,226, led the Wallbangers to a five point win over the Blazers. Good games. rolled by Sandy Fielder 208, Helen Lewis 229. The Blazers took two paints, led by Gladys Nicholson BOWLING Goderich Sports 14 ems. Bowling Wednesday Afternon Ladies Leisure League Kathleen Glenn rolled 200 and Joanne Ducharrne 201 to help Goderich Harbor take five points from the Bluewater Belles. The Schooners attacked and took five from the Hurons. Marie Park shot 232-613 triple. The Groders . levelled off the Squares to take seven points. Joyce Hamilton 202-200 Penny Breen 211-211 617 triple. The Beacons outshone the Lighthouse Keepers and took five. Daisy Scott 206. The West Wind blew over the Sunsets and came up with five points. The Salt Shakers shook all over the Beach Bums and took five points helped by Barb Pigg 235-202. Present stan- ding the Hurons in first place 30 pts., the Schooners second - 27 points followed by Goderich Harbor - 26 points. 138, Jean Pinder 179, Pauline Jacques 196. The Pin Pals had a good night, taking five points from the No Names. High games from Monica Young 151,163. Helena Young 199, Denise Aubut 204. i ne No Names held on for two points, led by June Rourke 157, Irene Hannah 170. Great team effort from the Oldtimers led them to a five point win over the Marionettes. Great games from Kris Miller 186, Grace Mugford 218, Nancy White 229. The Marionettes fought back to take two points, led by Joan Crawford 170, Ett Bradley 180, Audrey Brindley 265. Barb's Bunnies took five points from the New Gals. Big garnes from Norine Robin- son 183, Dorothy Bourdeau 235, Barb Almasi 243, Shirley Kennedy 258. The New Gals held on to take two points with great efforts from June Hayter 154, Sharon Mar- shall 179, Doreen Leeson 262. Monday Night Ladies League Nancy White 259, 295, 750 triple, led the Oldtimers to a seven point win over the New Gals. Good games from Judy Kelly 195, Brenda Parker. The New Gals took no points but had high games from Brenda Scholl 140, Eleanor Crawford 171, Mavis Fisher 198. The Marionettes were dead on the strike zone, taking five points from Barbs Bun- nies. Outstanding team efforts from Alice Mero 138, Kit Smith 170, Betty Fisher 207, Marion Beacom 238 and Joan Crawford 198, 180, 262, 640 triple which was 184 pins over her average. The "Bunnies" held on for two points with good games from Shirley Kennedy 254, Bev Whetstone 284, 628 triple which was 151 pins over average and Dorothy Bourdeau 310. The Wallbangers took five points from the Pin Pals with high games from Trish Deighton 181, Helen Lewis 195, Mme Srlth 198, 199, Sandy Fielder 245.
