Award winning children's play,
Morgan's/Journey in Blyth Nov. 21
BLYTH - Morgan's Journey, which was
the 1986 runner-up for the prestigious
Chalmers Award, will be performed at
Blyth Memorial Hall on November 21 at 2
p.m.
Morgan's Journey was created by
playwrights Robert Morgan and David
Craig who have both made invaluable con-
tributions to theatre for young audiences in
Canada. Festival supporters will remember
their production of Book of Miracles per-
formed by the Blyth Festival Young Com-
pany in 1984. David also authored and
directed in adaption of Cue For Treason for
the Festival's Young Company which was,
subsequently produced at Young People's
Thpatro in Toronto. Robert Mnr.nn ..,hr.
also starts in this one-man show, has ap-
peared in leading roles in over 20 produc-
tions directed 10 others and written 13 plays,
all of which have been professionally pro-
duced by theatres across Canada.
Morgan's Journey is a magical play for
children and family audiences about
Morgan the Clown's travels through life's
adventures and discoveries. Together we
celebrate Morgan's birthday and share in
his delight as he opens his many presents in-
cluding Fred, a trickster sock puppet who
becomes his friend.
Tickets for Morgan's Journey are $4.50
To reserve or inquire, phone the Blyth
Festival Box Office at 523-9300/9225.
Meeting to help parents and friends
deal with loved one's death Nov. 16
A special invitation is extended to families
and close friends who have suffered the
death of a child to attend a meeting on Mon-
day, November 16, from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at the
Meeting Room, 77 Montreal Street,
Goderich.
When a child dies, families are in
desperate need of help. It doesn't matter
the age of the child or how they died, you ex-
perience the same emotions. You can
grieve just as much with a miscarriage,
stillbirth, crib death, death by accident or
disease. Many families have traveled to
London and as far as Toronto to reach out
for help.
There has been a growing interest by
bereaved parents to establish a local self-
help group as well as a network of bereaved
parents for individual support. These ideas
will be explored and discussed that evening
without fear of committment.
This is not an ordinary meeting with
where -fors and why -fors. It is an informal
meeting consisting of sensitive, caring in-
dividuals who have either experienced a
similiar loss, who have benefitted from self -
