FamilyNews WEDDINGS PEOPLE Calvary Baptist Church was the setting for the August 8th wedding of David Brubacher, Clinton, and Judy Dennison, Goderich. David is the son of Rev. and Mrs. Reuben Brubacher of St. Thomas and Judy is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Dennison of Harrison. Rev. Reuben Brubacher of- ficiated at the ceremony. Matron of honor was Mrs. Jane Buehler, sister of the bride, of Harriston. Bridesmaids witre Joan Den- nison, sister of the bride, of Harriston; Mrs. Nancy Switzer, sister of the groom, of Goderich; junior bridesmaid Sarah Buehler, niece of the bride, of Harriston; flowergirl Angela Switzer, niece of the groom, of Harriston. Best man was Dave Switzer, brother-in-law of the groom, of Goderich. Ushers were Phil Cornish, friend of the groom, of Clinton; John Dennison, brother of the bride, of Harriston; junior usher Mark S',itzer, nephew of the groom, of Goderich. Following a reception at the White Carnation, ilolmesville, the couple left for a trip to Northern Ontario. They are residing at 650 Princess Avenue, London. Jeff is the son of Mrs. Jean Denomy and the late Gerry Denomy of 160 South Street, Goderich. Jennifer is the daughter of Harold and Norma Jeffery of 230 Bennett Street West, Goderich. Rev. Robert Ball of- ficiated. Maid of honor was Karen Fisher, of Goderich, friend of the bride. Bridesmaids were Susan Glousher, of Goderich, sister of the bride; and, Kim Hesser, of RR 3 St. Thomas, sister of the bride. Plowergirl was Jillian Glousher,, of Goderich, niece of the bride. Best man was Steve Walters, of Goderich, friend of the groom. Ushers were Jim Denomy, of Goderich, brother of the groom; and, John Little, of Goderich, friend of the groom. • Ringbearers were Matthew Hesser, of RR 3 St. Thomas, nephew of the bride, and Joel Denomy, of Goderich, nephew of the groom. Soloist was Mrs. Joanne Muck of Goderich with organist Robert Blackwell of Goderich. A reception was held at ,the Goderich Township Community Centre, Holmesville. Following a wedding trip to the Dominican Republic, the eouple has taken up residence at 400 Sandringham Crescent, London. (Colleen Maguire Photography ) Tops entertain Senior Citizens Mr. .and Mrs. Allison Gardhouse of Midland spent the weekend with Mrs. Beth Lansing, AUBURN SILVER TOPS Auburn Silver Tops entertained Blyth Senior Citizens on October 21. After dessert luncheon at 1 p.m., euchre and scrabble were played. There were several draws made and prizes distributed. John Hazelwood on behalf of the Blyth Seniors thanked Auburn for an enjoyable afternoon and Kay Lapp replied. The next (dinner and meeting of the Auburn Silver Tops will be November 18. WOMEN'S INSTITUTE The monthly meeting of the Women's In- stitute was held at the Community Hall on October 20 at 2 p.m. The.hall was decorated for Autumn and Halloween. The topic was citizenship and world af- fairs with conveners Mrs. Tom Jardin and Tina Empey. The president, Mrs. Len Ar- chambault, opened the meeting with a poem called "Indian Summer" and welcomed all members and guests. The minutes, correspondence and treasurer's report were given by the secretary, Mrs. Robert Peck, and approved and dealt with. The card report was given by Marion Haggitt in absence of Lillian l,eatherland. Mrs. Don Haines read humorous quotes from the almanac as well as two poems entitled • "Self Destruct" and "Huggs." She also had a contest on naming • the couple the couple on the platform. Jean Plaetzer-had the best names (Lazy Joe and Slim Jane) and got a prize. Mrs. Tom Jardin ' talked on a display of DENOMME FLOWER SHOPPE INC. She, then introduced Ethel Ball who showed slides of her trip to Alaska and the Yukon. She was thanked by Tina Empey. Prizes were won by Amy Barth .for closest birthday, Tina Empey for lucky serviette, all outside work done by Mrs. Carne and social half hour was enjoyed. KNOX CHURCH Knox United Church service began with a hynn sing. Rev. Dave Snihur conducted the service and Lori Millian was organist. The senior choir sang 'In the sweet bye and by& followed by the singing of 'What a friend We have in Jesus.' The minister read the scriptures followed by the prayer chorus. The minister's sermon was entitled 'God's Peacemaker'. The offering vias received by Murray Rollison and Laurence Plaetzer and dedicated. Rev: Snihur pronounced the benediction followed by the benedictional response 'Lord we pray'. Next Sunday begins a.four part sermon serif�s entitled Questions, Peo- ple Ask. Sunday,`°November 8 Londesboro United Church congregation will be at Auburn to join in the service at 11:15 a.m. Sherri, Charlotte ani. Robert are pleased to congratulate their mother, Anne Smith, on her graduation. She received her Nurses Aide Diploma from the New Skills Voca- tional School on Sept. 24, 1987.
