Kinsmen life membership
The Goderich Kinsmen Club held its 40th anniversary dinner
celebration Saturday .but the evening belonged to Stan Connelly,
who was honored with a life membership by the club for his
unselfish efforts on behalf of Kinsmen over several years of
association with the service organization. Connelly, who was presi-
dent of the Goderich club in 1974-75, also served in every executive
position, with the exception of treasurer over the years. On hand to
make the presentation of the life membership plaque to Stan were;
Steve Grose, Deputy Governor, Zone K; Stan Connelly Larry
(.'adotte, Governor, District One and Mark Fisher, Goderich
Kinsmen President. Stan joins an elite group of men athu_ha r con-
tributed greatly to Kinsmen over the last five decades. Other Ill!.
membership recipients have included; Pat Patterson, Cord Ban-
nister, Frank Skelton, Harold Hibbert, Bill Kirke\, Dow,

Reader urges AIDS research
Dear Editor:
Were the ancient civilizations' endowed
with more common sense than the civiliza-
tions of the present day? During the time
of Christ_the incnrahie diSPA SP called.
leprosy was confined to colonies. They
were required to notify the public by call-
ing "unclean, unclean", to keep the public
from contra eti the- disease. .
As a youngster, I was confined to much
the same conditions because of 'chicken
pox, measles, and scarlet fever, but nowa-
days individuals who have AIDS, because
of their constitutional rights, are free as
swallows flying in the air, and complain to
the public they are being discriminated
against.
LETTERS
The. AIDS virus has a rare capability of
being in the system of an individual and
not showing any signs of illness' for a
lengthy period of time; or there's a
possibility of no illness at all. These unfor-
tunately are carriers. and can infect other
people. Would it not be logical -to submit
themselves to medical authorities for the
purpose of research'? If.there is something
in their system that retards the progress of

dinner was prepared by the Knights and
followed by an evening of dancing; to "The
Swing Masters". It was an .evening en-
joyed by all present. .
The System Cross Country Meet was
held for the students of all the separate
schools in Huron and Perth on Oct. 14th in
Benmiller. St. Joseph's Kingsbridge had
students participating at every level and
they are to be congratulated on their hard
work and fine efforts. Ben Brophy brought
home the only medal for Kingsbridge with
his 3rd place finish in the Grade 3/4 boys
event. Congratulations Ben!'
On Oct. 16th Ruth Linton from the Huron
County Health Unit gave the first of two
,lessons to the Grade 7/8 class on the topic's
of puberty and heredity.
All the classes are now . involved in
Hallowe'en related activities and are
preparing for the day itself.
