Forty years of dedicated service
The Goderich Kinsmen Club has
bestowed life membership awards on
some of its worthy members but the first
honorary and life membership ever to be
awarded by the Goderich Club was
received by D.J. Pat Patterson in 1955
when the club held its Past President's
Night.
The award was made by the immediate
past president, Jack Marriott.
Patterson was one of the charter -
members of the Goderich Club, having
been associated with it since 1947, In May
1949, he organized the Octogenarian Club,
which was sponsored by the Kinsmen for
many years to follow. Patterson was
chairman of that club.
When first organized, the Oc-
togenarians had 302 members while
membership in 1955 was down to about
122.
