Communit Connection held at Western Fair The Rural Youth Connection was held on September 11, 1987 at the Western Fair. Seventeen Huron County 4-H members took part in the Judging Competition and also seventeen 4-H'ers participated in the Educational program. The 4-H members were able to judge Beef, Dairy, Swine, Fruit Juices, Door Locks, Gate Signs and Corn. Ben Rathwell . f RR 1, Brucefield took top placing in the Junior division and he also had the highest score overall. Those participating in the Educational Program heard from various sPeakers dealing with such topics as Family Abuse, Future Work, Animal Rights and En- vironmental Pollution. Also a panel discus- sion was held entitled "Is There a Future for Young People in Agriculture?". Congratulations and thanks to all the Huron County 4-H members who participated. Selling signs to caution drivers The Huron County Junior Farmers' are concerned about the safety of farm children. This year as a Community Bet terment Project they are helping the Farm Safety Association sell signs to caution drivers about children. . • Signs will be sold at a cost of one dollar (the actual cost to the Junior Farmers'). The signs should be posted along laneways or near areas where children play. Hopefully by warning drivers about children at play, fewer children will be in- jured by farm machinery, trucks, etc. These signs can be purchased at Junior Farmer club meetings or by contacting any Junior Farmer member.
