lace since 1955 and appeared regularly on
C.K.N.K. T.V. program "Sing Time."
Each year the Harbouraires join with
other music groups for an annual
Christmas concert. A highlight was per-
forming with Orchestra London on
December 10, 1983. Each spring, they par-
ticipate in a musical variety concert called
"The Sound of Goderich."
In 1979, the Goderich Branch of the
Canadian Legion engaged them to produce
a record of war songs entitled "Precious
Men."
After the death of George Buchanan is
1977, it was thought that it was only fitting
that something should be done to honor his
name as founder and conductor and for his
perseverance and dedication. This
resulted in the establishment off an annual
Music Award at the Goderich District Col-
legiate Institute for a student who has
made an outstanding contribution to the
furtherance of music. The Harbouraires
were pleased to learn that their youngest
member was the recipient of this award in
1985. He also won an A.M.C.A. scholarship
for the year 1986.
At the present time, there are approx-
imately 30 members as indicated in the
following roster of membership, three -of
which are original members.
A list of all former members is also
included.
