Ladies golf andtennis season winds down The wind-up for the LadiesTennisand Golf on Tuesday, Sept. 22nd ended a long summer of activity, and a good turn -out hit the courts and the course. It was really a fun day, and with all the tournaments and matches over, we could get out there and just relax. We all joined together in the Club House for food and more fun. Judy Woodall .gave us a demonstration of her easy care Weekender Fashions line of clothing. The clothes were comfortable, and good look- ing, and we thank Judy for her presentation. The golfers and tennis then divided into separate groups for their year-end meeting and prize giving. Reports were read by President Jean Bell, Secretary - Treasurer's report read by Grace Neville, and Grace also gave her Handicap Report. Captain Marie Huff read her Sports Report. All this pointed to the fact that Ladies Golf at the Maitland had enjoyed a good summer, both financially and to terms of number of golfers. Handicap Chairman presented "Break 100" pins to Joyce Garrick and Rosemarie Evans, which is presented to those golfers who have played under 100 for the first time. Joyce also won the C.L.G.A. Pin Day award. Prizes for the Ringer and Putting Sheets and Birdie Tree, which take the whole season's play into account were also presented.° Play for the day saw Verna Kane, Marie Huff and Rosemarie Evans take the first flight, while Edna Looker led the way in the 2nd flight with Jean 13e11 and Jean McDougall close behind. Jean Hanly top- ped the 3rd flight followed by Sally McEwan, Jean Knight and Bertha McGee. Joyce Shack took top honours in 4th flight with Gertie Wilson, Kay Duncan and Lois McGill in net positions. With this in mind, we are asking for input from all user groups and in- terested parties in order to get their ideas on the best way to achieve this objective." "As part of this consultation process. comment sheets will be made available at the Hallett Provincial Wildlife Area begin- ning September 1", Sturgeon added. "We encourage hunters or anyone else in- terested to pick up and fill out one of these sheets. Comments will be received at Hullett or the Wingham District Office un- til October 31, 1987. These comments together with input from other groups and individuals will form the basis for a mechanism which we hope can be im- plemented for the 1988 waterfowl hunting season." The Hullett Provincial Wildlife Area is a 2200 ha artificially created wetland ap- proximately 5 km northeast from Clinton. A mixture of uplands,- Wooded areas and wetlands, Hullett is an extremely impor- tant area for waterfowl reproduction in the spring and is experiencing increased the popularity for waterfowl hunting fall.
