For tickets call 529-7770 or 395-5186. FALL SQUARE DANCING - Fall square dancing starts on Oct. 1, 1987. Huron -Bruce Swingers Square Dance Club's fall dancing starts Oct. 1 at Brookside School. A special addition to our regular square dancing this year will be a series of lessons for beginners from 7:30-8:30 p.m. every Thursday for 10 weeks, also starting Oct. 1 We are fortunate to have one of the best callers in Western Ontario - Lorne Lockrey. Huron -Bruce Sw- ingers holds regular dances every Thursday throughout the year from 8:30 to 10:30 p.m. from Oct. 1 to the end of April. Square danc- ing is an activity that can be enjoyed by all age groups. It's fun, it's good exercise and a great way to meet new friends. If you have never square danced before but would like to try it - come out and try our lessons. If you have done modern square dancing before and would like to get hack at it, come out and join us. Free poetry contest held FREE POETRY CONTEST The World of Poetry is offering a $1,000 grand prize in its New American Poetry Contest. Some 200 prizes are being offered worth over $16,000. There is no entry fee. Poets may enter one poem only, 21 lines or less, on any subject, using any style. Deadline for entering is Oct. 15, 1987. For an)evening of comedy, music and sales pitches against nuclear war, in- terested persons should see "Bossin's Home Remedy For Nuclear War," a one- night -only performance to be held at Blyth Memorial Hall, October 15th at 8 pm. Bossin's Home Remedy for Nuclear War, sponsored by Women Today and the Huron County Medical Society, is written and performed by Bob Bossin. He is well- known across the country as the leader of Canada's premiere folk group "String - band," and is widely acknowledged as one of Canada's foremost songwriters. The show is the hit Canadian musical that has toured the country from the Queen Charlottes to Cape Breton. "It's an old-style musical medicine show that dispenses a snake -oil cure that is two - parts comedy, two parts of disarming political theatre and a liberal dose of cat- chy songwriting," reported the Vancouver Sun prior to Bossin's performance at the Vancouver East Cultural Centre. Throughout the show, the audience will witness jokes and songs aimed at politi- cians, the imitation of a U.S. military general, a Soviet and an impersonation of Ronald Reagan.
