the birth of their sister Melissa Lynn. She
arrived Sept. 5, 1987 at 12:30 a.m. weighing

Holmesville United Church to
PEOPLE celebrate baptism on October 4
Michael Van Dongen graduated June 17,
1987 from Fanshawe College, London with•a
Diesel Motive Power Technician Diploma.
He is 'Th you igesi son of Frank and Rea
Van Dongen of RR 1 Auburn, arida graduate
of GDCI. He has accepted a position with
Crothers, a Division of Caterpillar Concord,
Ontario.
HOLMESVILLE - Worship service was
held Sunday morning in Holmesville United
Church with Rev. Jim Bechtel officiating.
Wayne Tebbutt and Douglas Norman
received the offering.
There will be Holy Baptism on October 4
at 9:45 a.m. in Holmesville United Church.
On September 28, the West Huron
Regional meeting will be held at Trinity
Church, Ashfield. Ladies, please phone
Charlotte if you are going.
Enterprising Seniors News
The Enterprising Seniors held their
meeting Thursday evening in the communi-
ty centre.
- Gertrude Trewartha played the piano for
the opening. Edward Deeves, in charge of
the meeting, called upon Evertt Mcllwain to
install the new executive for the corning
year.

' The roll call was taken by Alice Porter
and she read the minutes from the last
meetitig which were approved. Alice Porter
gave a report on the, executive meeting held
in the community centre. -
John Deeves was present and spoke on the
fall rally to be held . October 14 in the
Goderich Township Community Centre.
Helen Lindsay gave the treasurer's report,
social committee will be in charge of lunch
for the rally.
Marion Powell gave the card report. Bla b -
the Deeves thanked. the group for their
flowers. Hazel McCreath reported at least
four quilts to be quilted this winter.
The next meeting October 1 at 8 p.m.
The meeting closed and Hazel McCreath
and Alice Porter led the group in a game of
definitioi • with--th€ 1,a-dtos emerging- -as
winners. The. anniversary cake and ice
cream were then served.
Jean and Mervyn, Lobb sang a song as a
tribute to all who had anniversaries through
the lrpar "
