Hayter's finish- ed their surprising sweep over Sherwood with a wild 10-9 win. Sherwood built a 4-1 lead by the third inning. John O'Keefe brought Hayter's to 4-3 with a two run tri- ple. In the sixth inning, Hayters scored four times to take the lead 7-4. Myles Mur- dock had a two -run single and Bob Riehl had a solo homer. Sherwood was not finish- ed yet and they fought back to take a 9-7 lead. Bill Tigert had a two run double to close Sherwood to within one. With two out, Pete Bakker put the ball in play, a Hayters player dropped the ball, as Sherwood took the lead. But Hayters fought back as War- ren Watt and Mark Frayne singled. Dave Scholl then hammered a triple to score two runs. Phil Petrie was the next batter and hit a sacrifice fly to score Scholl. Hayters advances to meet Denonunes. In the only series to go five games, Kirkey's and the Orioles start as they jumped on the pitching of Rob Plunkett to score'three runs..lim Peesker, Lee Arbour and Bob Orr scored two runs. They added two more in the fifth when Bruce Shear - down doubled, Peesher singled him in and Arbour got Peesher in with a single. The Orioles only run came on a single by Bill Wraith to sure John Warr. Kirkey pitcher 'ferry Johnston allowed eleven hits but was able to pitch out of dangerous situations. The course includes, equipment and safety discussions, strokes -forward, backward, front & back sweeps, high and low brace, kayak roll up (Eskimo roll ), self rescue and rescue of others. The race, featuring both pros and amateurs from all over Ontario, is hosted by, Goderich windsurfing and Bluewater Boardsailing club. Racing begins at 11 a.m. Saturday and Sunday in various ' classes including•: men's° heavy, men's light, womens, masters and youths. Awards will be presented Sun. after the racing.
