Kingsbridge summer program wraps up playground activities Congratulations and best wishes to Perry VanOsch arid Wendy Forster who were married at St. Joseph's in Kingsbridge on Saturday, August 22. An open reception followed in the evening at the Lucknow Community Centre. On Sunday, August 23, Jacqueline Anne, infant daughter of Bernadine and Steve Reaburn, was baptised at St. Joseph's and is joyfully welcomed into the family of God. On Saturday, August 29, another joyful occasion was celebrated at St. Joseph's. Peter and Betty (O'Connor) Murray, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a mass for . family and friends celebrated by Father Ed Garvey, followed by a dinner in the Paisley Hall. The event was catered to by the C.W.L. An open house with a potluck dinner was held in the evening at the O'Connor homestead in honor of the occasion. The local Beavers and Cubs are looking -forward to another year of • activities, however in order for them to continue, a new group committee is needed im- mediately. Positions to be filled include president, secretary and treasurer. These positions can be filled by either a man or woman and volunteers are urgently need- ed. There were a total of 90 children signed up for the program this year with 38 beAp& tlle„greatet number of children at- tending t n 'any dile day. Highlights of the program included games, sing-alongs, crafts and a chance to socialize with other children. A concert was held on the last day of the sumemr playground with parents invited. After the show, refreshments were served to all. Each of the graduates received a hat and a certificate from the 1987 Kingsbridge Playground Program. The certificates were signed by each of the three leaders, Shannon Durnin, Mary Anne O'Neill and Rhonda Hogan, who dedicated a great deal of time and effort to ensure that the children had an enjoyable' and enriching summer. Many of the children are looking forward to next year's summer playground.
