He was class valedictorian and the reci- pient of eight academic awards including the! Bishop W.A. Townshend medallion fur overall outstanding performance in all areas by a student. His grandparents are Ed and Melba Stiles of Lucknow and John and Vera Weir of London. Shawn Seers, son of Kaye Seers of Auburn, graduated from Fanshawe College, Lon- don, receiving his diploma in accounting. Shawn will be continuing his studies at Fanshawe in September. Walden dies at Stratford CLARENCE WALDEN Clarence J. Walden of Huronview, Clinton arid formerly of Seaforth, died Tuesday, August 11, 1987 at the Stratford General Hospital. Born at Begot, Manitoba he .wawa son of the late Jeff Walden and the former Leila Spading. Prior to his retirement he was a farm fuel distributor in the Seaforth area. • He was a member of Northside United Church where he had served as an elder and was also a choir member. He was a former member of the Seaforth Lions Club. Surviving are his wife, the former Marguerite Youngblut; one son Victor of NEW BORN NEWS BRUINSMA Ron and Karen (nee Caldwell) of Goderich give praise to God for the blessing of their son Matthew Warren on Friday, August 14 weighing 9 lb. 21/2 oz. A brother for Jason. Spoiling privileges go to grandparents Cecil and Diane Bruinsma of Benmiller. Ralph and Gladys Caldwell of Blyth and great- grandparents Koob and Jantje Drost of Brampton. Special thanks goes to Dr. Neal and the nurses of 2 East for their excellent care. YOUNG Ken and Marg are thrilled to announce the arrival of their second child, a son, Ronald Kenneth Chester, who was born on his Uncle Kevin's birthday, August 4, 1987 at 11:50 a.m. at St. Joseph's Hospital, London' weighing in at 9 lbs. 3 ozs. Proud grandparents are Vince and Betty Young and Ruth Henderson all of OBITUARIES Goderich; one daughter Marjorie (Mrs. John Fraser) of Conestogo; two grand- children; and one sister, Edna Semchism (Lockman) of London. He was predeceased by one brother Lloyd and one sister Marjorie Slaughter. Friends were received at the Whitney- Ribey Funeral Home, Seaforth and a. funeral service was held Friday. Burial was in Maitlandbank Cemetery.
