WEDDINGS A. Powell 1::les at age 72

Tony Vandyke, son of Bill and Dora Van-
dyke of Lucknow, and Laurie West,
daughter of Jim and Jane West of
Goderich, celebrated the holy bonds of
matrimony at a service held at the
Ashfield Presbyterian Church on .May 30,
1987.
Rev. Hugh Nugent officiated the
ceremony which saw Laurie attended by
friends Bonnie MacDonald of Goderich
and Debbie Courtney of .Ripley as well as
by her cousin Heather Mills of Weston.
Standing up with Tony were friends Jim
VanOsch, Bill Kuik and Jeff Alton all of
Lucknow and brother of the bride' Alex
West,of Toronto.
Ann Pritchard of Lucknow provided the
organ music with a lovely solo being sung
by Mrs. Steve MacNay of Kincardine.
Following the church ceremony guests
attended a reception at the Lucknow Com-
munity Centre to wish Tony and Laurie
good luck as they left for a honeymoon trip
to the Ponocos in Pennsylvania.

Wedding correction
It was reported last week in the announce-
ment ,of the wedding between Valerie Denise
Maize of Rti.11 ungannon and Kevin Gordon
Finnie of Dungannon, that the grog m was
the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Maize: The
groom is, in fact, the son of Mr. and Mrs.
Victor Finnie of Goderich.

GEORGE ALBERT IAB) POWELL
George Albert Powell of Goderich died
at Alexandra Marine and General Hospital
on Friday, July 3 at the age of 72.
Mr. Powell was a retired foreman of
Champion Road Machinery, a member of
Victoria Street United Church and the
Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 109.
He was predeceased by his wife the
former Mabel Johnston and children
Sylvia Frechette, Donald Powell,,
Catherine Oorinne Powell, two brothers
Victor. and Ronald and one sister Muriel.
Surviving are grandchildren Louis and
Elise Nadeau, Quebec, and several nieces
and nephews.
The' funeral and committal services
were held at the McCallum and Palla
Funeral Horne on Sunday, July 5 with
Reverend Gordon Pickell officiating: The
Royal Canadian Legion and Ladies Aux-
iliary to Branch 109 held a Memorial Ser-
vice Saturday evening.
AMOS J. OSBALDESTON
Amos J. Osbaldeston, of Goderich, died in
Alexander Marine and General Hospital,
Goderich, on July 1. He was 84 years old.
Mr. Osbaldeston was born in Redland,
California on October 9, 1902 to Aubrey and
Adelaide ( Ferguson) Osbaldeston. On June
2, 1934 he married the former Elva May
Smith in Clinton.
Mr. Osbaldeston farmed in Goderich
Township as well as being in construction
and maintenance work. He was also a
member of Victoria Street United Church,
OBITUARIES
Goderich, a past noble grand of Huron
Lodge 62 IOOF Goderich and a past district
deputy of the IOOF -Lodge.
Mr. Osbaldeston is survived by one son,
Ronald of Paisley, three granddaughters
and two grandsons.
He was predeceased by his parents, his
wife on March 6, 1987, and three brothers,
Alex, Walter and George.
An IOOF memorial service was held .on
July 2 and a funeral service was held on July
3 at Beattie Funeral Home, Clinton, with
Rev. David Woodall officiating.
Interment in Clinton Cemetery. •
T. CLAYTON ROBERTSON
T. Clayton Robertson of Meaford died at
Meaford General Hospital at the age of 77.
Surviving are his wife, the former Ann
Straughan, and children Douglas Robertson
and his wife Terry of Brampton, Karen,
'Shouldice and her husband John of Toronto.
Also surviving are grandchildren Peter, Joe
and Mark and sister Isobel Kitchen of
Hamilton.
Visitation was held at the Ferguson
Funeral Home, Meaford, on Wednesday, Ju-
ly 1. Visitation was held at the Tasker:
Funeral Home, Queen St. Blyth on July 2nd.
Funeral services were held at the Tasker
Funeral Home on Friday, July 3. •
Interment at Ball's Cemetery, Auburn.
Memorial donations may be made to the
Auburn United Church or the Canadian
Cancer Society.

Barbara Ellen Gross, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Carmen Gross of RR 1, Auburn,
graduated on May 28 from the University of
Waterloo' with an Honours Bachelor of Arts
in Fine Art, Studio option. Barbara was on
the Dean's Honour List each year, and was
honoured to have one of her major drawings
purchased for the University collection. She
ispresently working, in Guelph, Ontario.
Brian D. Treble, son of Donald and Marjorie
Treble of RR 4 Goderich, graduated on the
Deans Honour Roll from_the University of
Western Ontario on June'8, with a Bachelor
of Arts Honours Geography (Urban
Development) degree. Brian is entering a
Masters Prograll?l in September at the
School of Urban and Regional Planning,
University of Waterloo.
Frank and .Verna.Dam, RR 5 Goderich, are
proud to announce the graduation of their
daughter, Karen Elizabeth, from McMaster
University of Hamilton, with an Honors
Bachelor of Science in Geology. Karen will
be attending Westervelt School of London in
September, studying Travel and Tourism.

Raynor and Janice (nee Reaburn) are
pleased to announce the arrival of their son.
A brother for Amanda. He arrived on June
22, 1987 at Prince of Wales Hospital, Sha Tin,
Hong Kong. Happy grandparents are Edna
and Eric Shaw of Rotherham, England and
Stella and Eric Reaburn, RR 6 Goderich.

Ken and Nancy nee Bellinger are pleased to
,,,announce the safe arrival of Kieren Patrick
weighing 9 lbs. on July 3, 1987 at St. Mary's
Hospital, Timmins. A brother for Even and
Jessica. Proud grandparents are Frank and
Isabelle Doherty and Roy and Bessie Bell-
inger all of Port Albert. Great grandmother
is Mrs. D. Bellinger, Goderich.
