Mall fun
In what they hope will become an annual event, Suncoast Mall mer-
chants hosted their first Goderich Founders Day Celebration last
week complete with a midway and helicopter rides. On the mid-
way, six-year-old Billy Wilson became the train ride's engineer
while, at right, Marlaine and Bethany Lindsay of Wingham enjoyed
a ride on the swings. (photo by Lou -Ann Hope)

Skit is part of
camp experience
A very aiiilising. but equally challenging
skit based on the il('.V purpose highlighted
the "camp -fire" portion of the• afternoon
programme as about 100 women from
-Huron-Perth Presbyterial gathered for their
annual "Campsite Experience." The skit
was written by Alma Langford, of Exeter,
who was also one of the Huron -Perth Thes-
pians" performing it. Others' participating
were Helen Anderson of Tavistock. Muriel
('oultes of Belgrave, Phyllis Cox of
Goderich, and Linda Hawley of Exeter.
. Women were asked in this 25th anniversary
yea'. to evaluate the activities of their -own
local groups.
'Coffee and cookies were waiting as the
"campers" arri‘ ed• and Anna Key's of Var-
na began the day with a sing -song: Other
parts of the day included typical ramp ac-
tivities— discussion groups meeting• in the
sunshine following the morning address on
"Celebration" by, Rev. Bonnie Lamble of
Walton-Bluevale: the outdoor ret'reation in
charge of Nancy Corrigan of Bluevale.
Following a generous pot -luck lunch, a
mock campfire program was conducted in-
cluding real camp songs,,the skit, and final-
ly a most inspirational comtmunion service
conducted in the outdoor chapel by Miss
Debbie Hoekstra of Exeter. and the Rev_ .
Bonnie Lamble.
The combination of an excellent pro-
gramme and a 'delightful location on the
shore of Lake Huron easily banished the
discomfort of tharecent heatwave. It was a
real celebration, thanks to the work of the
planning committee - Jean Taylor,
Bayfield; Mary F. Dow, Mitchell; and Jean
'Mothers, Wingham.
