Golden Gate Seniors enjoy Christmas tour S GODFRICH SIGNAL -STAR, WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 24. 1986—PACE: 9 A delightful outing for Golden Gate Seniors was provided, by Robert Sherwood who offered the use of a bus and driver to make a circle tour of Goderich and the sur- rounding area to view the beautiful 'displays of Christmas lights.' The bus, loaded to capacity, left MacKay Centre at 7 p.m. on December 17 and stops were made at Lucknow, Wingham, Blyth and Clinton before returning to Goderich. The magnificent display at Fred Porter's home in Wingham was a highlight of the evening. After returning to the Mackay Centre, the lunch, committee served special Christmas refreshments. Truly, an evening to remember! " Courthouse Park is ablaze with lights and displays these days, thanks to the concerted ef- forts of several service organizations. This year the display was enhanced as several organizations contributed to the purchase of a nativity scene. Barb Jeffrey of St. Peter's CWL, Catherine Boddy of the Maple Leaf Chapter of the IODE, and Peter Strickland of the Goderich Car Dealer's Association contributed financially to the project. Mayor Eileen Palmer and Robin Stuart (centre) and Cindy Bazinet, were on hand to accept the donation. St. Peter's Church, North Street United Church and McCallum and Palls Funeral Home also contributed to the project. The outdoor stable was built by Joe Donnelly, Jim Shanahan, Andy Stinnissen and Cindy and Brian Bazinet.
