Rollins will play lead in Othello Howard Rollins is currently starring in the London production of I'm Not Rap- paport. His list of New York theatre credits include Streamers, Measure For Measure, The Taking of Miss Jamie and Fathers and Sons for the New York Shakespeare Festival. On Broadway, he has appeared in G.R. Point, The Mighty Gents, We Interrupt This Program ... and with The Dance Theatre of Harlem as Nar- rator. His Off-Broadway credits include Medal of Honour Rag and The Passing Game. The Stratford Festival has announced Howard Rollins will play the title role in the Festival's 1987 production of Othello. "This is exciting news," Festival Ar- tistic Director John Neville said today. "My decision to do Othello was contingent on getting the right actor for the title role. From the beginning, Howard Rollins was the man I wanted and my conviction was reinforced this summer m London when I saw him co-star with Paul Scofield in I'm Not Rappaport. He is an outstanding actor and I am delighted to have him join our superb ensemble of actors here at Stratford."
