HomeMy WebLinkAboutThe Goderich Signal-Star, 1986-11-26, Page 16PAGE 16 —GODERICH SIGNAL -STAR, WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 26, 1986 Sharon Catherine Bast of Mississauga, daughter of Percival and Sylvia Bast of Mississauga, and Wayne George Graham of Mississauga, son of Jim and Eleanor Graham of RR 3 Goderich, were united in marriage on October 11 at Cooksville United Church in Mississauga by Rev. Fraser Williams. Maid of honor was Pauline Bast, sister of the bride of Mississauga, with bridesmaids Karen Graham, sister of the groom of Goderich, and Ann Sweeney, friend of the bride of Montreal. Best man was Robert Graham, brother of the groom of Goderich, with ushers Shane Bast, brother of the bride of Montreal, and Brent Pollock, friend of the groom of Calgary. Master of ceremonies was Donald Stonehouse, uncle of the groom of Guelph. A lovely three tier wedding cake, made and decorated by the bride's father, centred the head table with arrangements by Joan Schilbe-Small, cousin of the groom of Lon- don. A reception was held at the li,oyal Canadian Legion in Mississauga. Following a Caribbean cruise, the couple has taken up residence at 15 Fairview Road East in Mississau a. Auburn couple hold open house in celebration of 40th anniverary Streamers, bells, flowers and candles decorated the home fo Tom and Mildred Lawlor who had open house at their home on Sunday, November 16 on the occasion of the 40th wedding anniversary. The couple were married at the United Church manse at Benmiller on November 18, 1946. Attending them were Mr. and M°rs. Gordon Schultz of Dungannon. Mrs. Lawlor was the former Mildred Anderson, daughter of Mrs. Gertrude Park, of Dungannon. The couple settled on a farm at RR 5� Goderich in Colborne Township. They farm- ed' there for 32 years before moving to the Lawlor homestead at RR 3 Auburn eight years ago. The couple have one son, Jim, who farms at RR 5 Goderich. Many friends and relatives called on them and were served lunch and wedding cake. Mrs. Tom Hallam of Auburn, sister of the bride, poured tea in the afternoon and her sister Mary Schultz, sister-in-law Marie Park and friends Evelyn Burgess and Marguerite McLean of Vanastra served lunch. In the evening, Mrs. Lloyd McLarty of Goderich poured tea and Marjorie McDougall of Auburn served lunch. The couple received many lovely gifts, cards and phone calls. On Tuesday, November 18 the couple was honored at a dinner party st the home of Mrs. Dorothy Wilson, a long time friend of the couple. The wedding took place in the Goderich Court House and was conducted by justice of the peace Karen Sturdy. Attending the bride and groom were Jacqueline Anne Berry of Huron Park and Brian Glousher of KR 1 Auburn. A reception and dinner was held at the bride's home. Mr. and Mrs. Youngblut are residing at 63 St. Patrick St. until the spring when they will move to RR * 1 Auburn.
