Seniors Centre hold Christmas bazaar A very successful Christmas Bazaar and Bake Sale was held at the Seniors Centre on Saturday, November 8. The tea tables were kept busy serving up homemade muffins and tarts to go with the tea and coffee. The winner of the draw for the lovely homemade Christmas cake was Lois Durnin. A good crowd was out to the second euchre tournament sponsored by the Agriculture Society despite it beautiful day which kept many of the farmers corn harvesting. Congratulations to former residents Mr. and Mrs. Jack McGee who celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary on November 18. Tom and Millie (Anderson) Lawlar of Auburn celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on the same date. Congratulations to Doug and Kathy Dougherty on the birth of a daughter on Sunday, November 9 at the hospital in Goderich. Proud grandparents are Gord and Barb Chapman and Gord and Yvonne Dougherty. Happy birthday was sung to Pearl Con - gram who celebrated her 89th birthday that day and everyone enjoyed a piece of birthday cake. Colborne Recreation Department to host its own euchre parties The Colborne Township Recreation Com- mittee have started their own card parties in Colborne Township Hall, Carlow for the season every second Thursday. At the Nov. 20 card party, winners were: Mrs. Charles Johnston and Cecil Pollock; low score was Cora and Bill Caesar. The next party will be on Dec. 4. Members of Benmiller United Church have two special events coming up. At the church service Sunday, Dec. 7 at 11:15 a.m. a White Gift Service will be held. On Satur- day, Dec. 13, 6 p.m. a special 'fellowship evening is planned to commence with a pot- luck Christmas dinner party, potatoes and meat supplied with members supplying the rest of the meal.
