WS Women make wreaths and table centres Our if The November meeting of the Dungannon Women's Institute was held at the home of Jean Errington. President Elmira Finnigan opened the meeting with a Remembrance Day poem. Fifteen members answered the roll call, "name a plant that starts with the same in- itial as your name " Alma Black read the minutes and the treasurer's report. The next meeting will be our Christmas party at the Candlelight at 12:30 p.m. Roll call will be a Christmas verse. A donation of $3 per member will be collected to go to Huron County Family and Children Services for Christmas. Donations were made to both Homebound at Huronview Clinton and Wingham. Report on Fall Rally held in Walton was given by Bessie McNee and Jean Errington. Elmira Finnigan and Alma Black reported on the Area Convention held in London. A contest which involved unscrambling the provinces and their flowers was won by Bessie McNee. Tinie Logtenberg gave a splendid demonstration on making Christmas wreaths and table centres, A Christmas table centre donated by Don- na Sue McClenaghan was won by Peg Purden. Tinie Logtenberg presented the hostess with a lovely Christmas wreath. Lunch was served by Jean Errington and Lois Lee and a social time was enjoyed by all. Residents at Maitland Manor presented a cheque for $100 -to representatives of McDonald's' to go towards the Rick Hansen Man in Motion Tour. Taking part in the cheque presentation were, in front, Crystal MacPhee, Kevin Faber and Della Gibbons, president of the residents council at Maitland Manor. In back are Melinda Harmer, McDonald's manager, Brian Dent, McDonald's owner, Ernie Armstrong, treasurer of the residents council at Maitland Manor, and Cathy Wiebe, Maitland Manor activity director. Both Melinda and Brian, along with community representatives Crystal and Kevin, will be traveling to London tomorrow (Thursday) to present a cheque from the Goderich McDonald's to Rick Hansen. McDonald's raised a total of $1536 through the sale of buttons, Big Macs and private dona- tions. McDonald's crew members also donated one hour of their time to the fund. (photo by Lou -Ann Hope), Dungannon Willing Workers hold bazaar Sympathy is extended to the families of the late Mel G. Stewart of Goderich who died in Stratford on Saturday, November 22 in his 77th year. Burial was in Dungan- non Cemetery on Tuesday with ar- rangements by McCallum-Palla Funeral Home. Celia Barendreght of Union visited last week with Jim and Margaret Errington. Gertrude Park returned to her home on Thursday from Wingham Hospital where she had been admitted a week previous. Geraldine Dawson of Leamington visited over the weekend with son Dave, daughter-in-law Jan and family, Marcia, Michelle and Mark. Rosemary Gardner and daughters Aleshia and Laura of Stratford visited on the weekend with her mother Isabel Eedy and attended the United Church services on Sunday. Old-time dance On Saturday, Notf ember 22, the Dungan- non Agricultural Society sponsored a real old-time dance with the crowd greatly en- joying the music provided by Joe Tiffin and his band. Lucky winners of door prizes were Alma MIL DUNGANNON DOINGS Marie Park, 529-7719 At the Seniors' Centre on Wednesday evening, euchre winners were high lady, Dorothy Anderson; low lady Maxine Pollock; high white card Jean Broughton; low man Tom Tobey. Everyone shared in the cake and extended best wishes to Cecil and Maxine Pollock on their 37th anniversary. Dungannon Willing Workers The Dungannon United Church Willing Workers held another successful was held at Dun Gordon, Ross Henry, Barbara Walters, Edith Pidgeon and Judy Sproul. Each per- son received a coupon for a discount on a ticket for the New Year's Eve dance at the Dungannon Agricultural hall. The music will be provided by the Windjammer band. Christmas Bazaar on Saturday, November 15. They would like to thank everyone who came out to support them and con- gratulate the many winners. Winners of the draw were: food hamper, Katrina Brindley; turkey voucher, Margaret Errington; decorated hat, Melissa Faber.
