LillianStewart was high lady at euchre
There were seven tables in play at the
euchre party held Nov. 4 at the Auburn Com-
munity Hall. Winners were: high lady,
Lillian Stewart; high man; Clarence Allin;
low lady, Bernice McCl.inchey; low man,
Ray Hannah, novelty, Adelaine Allin.
Euchre parties are held every Tuesday
night at 8 pm. Everyone welcome.
REMEMBRANCE SERVICE
The Reverend Gary T. Shuttleworth con-
ducted the morning Remembrance Day Ser-
vice at Knox United Church. Organ prelude
was played by choir director Lori Millian;
The Junior choir sang, 3esu.s Luvc3 Mc
under the direction of Mrs. Allan Webster
and pianist Mrs. Gordon Gross.
The Honour Roll of World War I and II
were read by Elliott Lapp and Maurice
Bean. Last Post was sounded with a minute
of silence and Reveille and 0 Canada was

and they went to the Sunday School Rooms
with their leaders. Lillian Hallam read the
Scripture.
The minister chose for his sermon,
"Thank God I'm Free". Offering was
received by Murray Rollison and Peter
Verbeek. Service closed with the Congrega-
tional Benediction "The Lord Our God."

4-11 CLUB
The Auburn 4-H Club "Milkmates" had
their last meeting on Nov. 3 at the home of
�siita Boy will, ?A i1, 44ttrndance. Member;
brought their friends and mothers for this
special meeting.,
Tanya Boomstoppel, president, opened
the meeting with the 4-H Pledge. Anita
Gross 'read the minutes from the previous
Meeting. Bernice Gross said the blessing
and then everyone enjoyed a feast of food
made with milk and milk products.
Huron County Dairy Queen runner up,
Anita Bos presented us with a speech about
milk, from the cow to the dinner table. We
played games that everyone enjoyed. The
meeting was then closed with the new motto
"Together today for a terrific\tomorrow".
The Achievement program will be on
November 19 at the Clinton Christian
Reform School.

Mr. and Mrs.Don Haines visited on the
weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Ed Haines and
family, of Beamsville.
Marjorie McDougall, Mr. and Mrs.
Aubrey Toll of RR 3 Blyth visited last Sun-
day with Mr. and Mrs. Stewart Toll of
London.
The November meeting of the Women's
Institute will be held at the Community Hall
on Nov. 18 at 2 pm. Topic will; be "Citizen-
ship and World Affairs" with convenors

The 5th Annual Christmas Craft Fair will
be held, at the Auburn Community Hall on
Saturday November 15th from 10 am to 4

Ordered priest in 1976, Simmons became
rector of the parish of Tyrconnell, Burwell
Park, Dutton, West Lorne and Port
Stanley m 1977. Two years later Christ
Church, Port Stanley became a separate
parish and in 1983, he moved to Clinton.
Simmons was the charter president of
the "Survival Through Friendship House"
m Goderich, for victims of family violence.

Family Violence Task Force.
He is also president of the Huron Council
for Action on Alcohol and -Other Drugs, an
inter -agency body that operates assess-
ment and referral services as well as pro-
viding

helped to establish the inter-
denominational chaplaincy program at
Clinton Public .Hospital and has been
chaplain at -the Seaforth Hospital. He has
also served as padre for the Royal Cana-
dian Legion, Branch 140, Clinton.
For the Diocese of Huron, Simmons has
been treasurer of South Saugeen Great
Chapter, secretary of the Huronia
Anglican Clergy Credit Union, a member
of the Huron Hunger Fund Task Force and
Anglican representative for the
Southwestern Ontario Coalition for
Development (CEED).
Simmons and his wife Beth, a teacher
with experience in curriculum develop-
ment, have two daughters: Mary
Elizabeth, 8 and Pamela Ann, 5. They will
reside in the rectory on Russell Street,
Sarnia.
The former rector, Canon William A.
Jones who served at Canon Davis
Memorial 'Church for 27 years, and his
wife, Helen, have chosen London as their
retirement home.
