Ontario's war effort was substantial due to technological development and the assistance required. The provincial landscape was dotted with British Commonwealth Air Training Centres as local men enlisted in the armed forces. Training bases at Vanastra and Port Albert contributed to the war effort. The war effort also required fuel, large amounts of money, which was supplied by new tax schemes from a centralized source. Families were in a state of disarray as men were stationed all over the province and world. But the war had put the industrial machines back to work and by the end, the manufacturing sector was on its feet again. Plants were in production everywhere, and to keep pace with the demands of the war effort, were operating at an efficient pace. War had put the industrial machine back on the rails and Ontario, and Canada, was ready for a bold new era.
