The 1890s and early 1900s spawned many new technical, industrial and manufacturing concerns in the province of Ontario. With no income or corporate taxes, Canadians were doing well and that prosperity was reflected, not only in lifestyle, but in the religious, educaLioiedi aced cultural institutions that were constructed and flourishing in those days. Automobiles were more a novelty in those days and the road system in Ontario was slowly evolving to keep up with the new machines. Champions played a key role in the development of the road system and the machinery built by the company in Goderich serviced the road building industry.
