Tina Martens, of 25 Kappele Circle in Strat-
ford, daughter of Mr. 'and . Mrs. Martin
Martens of RR 1 Dashwood, and Tim Doher-
ty, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Doherty of 240
Cameron St. in Goderich, were united in
marriage on August 23. at Immaculate Heart
of Mary Church in Grand Bend with Father
R. Morrissey officiating. Matron of honor
was Mathilda Martens-Flear, sister of the
bride, London. Bridesmaids were Marj
MacGregor, sister of the bride, London, and
Elizabeth Martens, sister of the bride, RR 1
Dashwood. Junior bridesmaids were Mary
Anne Doherty, sister of the groom, of
Goderich, and Carrie Lyn Martens, niece of
the bride, of Dashwood. Best man was Ted
Doherty, brother of the groom, of 240
Cameron St. Goderich. Ushers were Tom
Doherty, brother of the groom, Toronto, and
Jim Ramsay, friend of the groom, Waterloo.
The wedding reception was held at Varna

North Street United Church in Goderich was
the setting for the recent marriage of Kerri
Lawrence, of Kingston, and Michael Pa-
quette, of Kingston. Kerri is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. John Lawrence of Goderich
and Michael is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Stan
Paquette of Brantford. Sue Main, of Lon-
don, friend of the bride, acted as maid of
honor with bridesmaids Katherine Yates of
Goderich and Vicki DeWinter of Corinna.
Best man was Steve Taraba of St.
Catherines, friend of the groom. Ushers
were Lou DeWinter of Corunna, friend of the
groom, and Scott Lawrence, of Goderich,
brother of the bride. A reception was held at
the Candlelight Restaurant in Goderich.

attend the baptism of Michelle Lazette,
daughter of Michael and Brenda Lazette,.
of Kincardine. and Sharlene
Visiting with Barry? Betty ,
Jones last week were some of Sharlene's
friends to help celebrate her 19th birthday.

David MacDonald, son of Sandy and Frank
MacDonald, graduated recently from Huron
College, of the University of Western On-
tario, with an Honours degree in English.
David is continuing his studies at U.W.O.
Kae Webster, 395-5257
They were Dianne Stevens and Belinda
Kipp of Thorndale, Michelle Bakker and
William of Brampton and Fern Martin of
Kitchener.
Jim and Cecil Webster of Waterloo
visited on the weekend with their, mother
Kae Webster and were also in Goderich
visiting with Norma Young.
Ken Wilkins of Ridgetown`and Elizabeth ,
Wilkins of Mount Forest were home on the
weekend with their parents, Charles and
Mayme Wilkins.
/Recently, the Lochalsh store, a land-
mark for this area, has been torn down and
in its place is gravel which has been levell-
ed off. The store was owned and operated
by the late D.A. MacLennan.
The Ashfeld Presbyterian Church held a
successful Hallowe'en party for the
children on Wednesday evening. It began
at 5 p.m. with a hot dogs supper. They also
played games m the early evening which
were enjoyed by all .
Ewan and Marj: MacLean returned
home on Monday evening after a two week
vacation in Bradton, Florida. The weather
there was lovely.with tempreatures in the
80 degree range. And it only rained on their
last day there.
Weekend visitors with Dorothy
Finlayson was her daughter and son-in-
law and two grandchildren, John Balch,
Carol Finlayson, Alexander and Nicholas
of Toronto'. •
Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Robb visited with
their daughter ,afid family, Bob, Sandra,
Heather and Mark Darling of Hanover.
They also visited friends' in Dundalk on
Friday.
Paul Ayriss of Vancouver, British Col-
umbia, an old army pal of Art
Mathewman, visited with them for a cou-
ple of days. Mr. Ayriss had come east for
the annual reunion of .the Royal Canadian
Ragoons which is held every year in
Toronto.
SCHOLL
Dave and Brenda Scholl are pleased to an-
nounce the birth of Kendra May, weighing 7
lbs., 101/2 ozs. at Alexandra Marine and
General Hospital, Goderich, on October 24,
1986. A sister for Darren. Proud grand-
parents are Mr. and Mrs. Lorne Scholl,
•Monkton, and Mrs. Stanley Ball, Auburn.
DUNCAN
Ryan is pleased to announce the safe arrival
of his new little brother, Corey Adam. A se-
cond child for Dale and Debbie,. Corey was
born at 3:20 a.m. Oct. 31,1986, and weighed 8
lbs. 11 ozs. Proudgrandparents are: Ken,
and Donna Duncan, Mike and Linda Sudyk,
Dennis and Marj Brennan of Goderich and
John and Irene Hannah of Harriston.

Nick and Cathy (nee Wise) Sager are pleas-
ed to announce the arrival of their son, Ryan'
Nicholas on October 29th at St. Joseph's
Hospital, 'London. Ryan weighed in at 8 lbs.
12 ozs. Proud grandparents are Nancy Wise
of Clinton and Don and Rosemarie Sager of
Goderich.

at Girvin home
The October meeting of the Nile U.C.W.
was held recently at the home of Winnifred
Girvin.
During the meeting, President Beth
Rutledge read a poem entitled Counting.
The worship service, which followed the
meetings Thanksgiving theme, was con-
ducted by Bessie McNee.
Invitations were received from North
Street United Church and Auburn United
Church to attend their Thankoffering
meetings.
A letter of thanks from Hazel McMichael
was read thanking Nile U.C.W. for the ef-
fort they made in hosting the Annual
Rally -West Huron Region in September.
The November meeting of Nile U.C.W.
will consist of a produce and bake sale.
