"This is excellent news," Festival General Manager Gary Thomas said. "The 1986 season was daring in its inclusion of several lesser-known Shakespearean works (Cymbeline, Pericles, The Winter's Tale and Henry VIII) and it is a great achieve- ment to be able to show a net increase at the box office. That is a tribute to the excellence of the productions themselves. The first season under the leadership of Artistic Director John Neville has attained remarkable results." "Our 1986 expenditures will be well under budget and with revenue increases at the bw . office eni flow fund iaisine, ae.Ceeltiee, we are guaranteed a second consecutive season of black ink at the Festival. Also, that surplus will be achieved without reliance on income from special sources. I think we have proven the Festival is well on $300,00 memairagawassimmairmssimasamamonsimmisimmionamotsonimomonatannla COMMUNITY CALENDAR its way to full financial recovery."
