Dixon scored his second goal during this scoring drive, while Bill Ingham and Don Rivers also scored for Goderich. Exeter was held scoreless in the third while David Boyce, Andrew Scott and Ryan Farrish scored for the locals. Boyce and Ingham also contributed with two assists each. In a later game, on October 11, the Goderich boys lost in a close game to Parkhill by a score of 3-2. Going into the second period they were leading 1-0 on a goal by Jason Meriam, however, Parkhill tied it up wit`1. ri the -first minute of the second. Goderich again took the lead six minutes into this period on a goal from David Boyce, but Parkhill came on to score two goals in the third period to take the win. Junior Vikings lose first - place battle to Exeter Panthers 21-13 in football By TD The GDCI,junior, Vikings lost round one of their showdown with the Exeter Pan- thers in Huron -Perth Conference football last Thursday, dropping .a 21-13 verdict in the first meeting of the two previously undeafeated teams. The victory gives the Panthers first place in the regular season, but in all likelihood the two teams will line up against each other again in, the champion- ship final on November 1 in Exeter. The game last Thursday was one .that could have gone either way. The Vikings led 12-1 at half-time and 13-8 going into the fourth quarter, but the Panthers scored two fourth quarter touchdowns to win it. The final Pather touchdown came with three minutes remaining as the result of a march set up when the Vikings fumbled BUILDING IN THE SPRMG...? The Vikings had trouble containing the Panthers' offtackle runs, sweeps and quarterback sneaks, but the Viking coaching staff know what they have to work on for November 1.
