Man scores third hole in one
at Miller Time Tournament
Tony Bedard scored his third hole in one
on the par three tenth hole on Thanksgiv-
ing Monday during the Miller Time
Tournament.
Not showing any strain, he birdied then
eagled on the next holes for a fine 29 on the
back nine, and 65 total.
The Left Handers' Team Challenge was
held the same day with the Lefies winning
the trophy for the second year.
Team one winners were Bob Durnin and
Mike Lajeunesse, while for team two they
were Larry Gaynor and Joe Walsh. Third
place went to Stan Connelly and Bob
Dempsey.
This was a team handicap event and the
SUNSET
GOLF
lefties were well handicapped.
Other Miller Time winners were Harold
Refflinghaus, Kirk Livingston, Peter
Teichert, Larry Gaynor, Tom Moore, Leon
Gaynor, Allan MacDonald, Bob Dempsey,
Issy Bedard and Leroy'Bedour.

Monday night bowling
During the Monday Night Ladies League
bowling on October 13 the Oldtimers and
the Wallbangers split the points.
Nancy White, bowling a 216 and a 574 tri-
ple lead the Oldtimers to a four point win.
Also running up some points for the team
were Bev Million with 205 and Melba
Maillet with 215.
Leading the Wallbangers to a three point
win was Dianne Scott with a 259 and a tri-
ple of 609. Diane was helped out by Marj
Poulter who bowled 208 and Sandy Fielder
with 217.
Auleen Theriault, bowling a 229 and 603
triple led her Angels to a five point win.
High single bowlers were Grace Mugford
with. 181, Vicky Dineen 217, Marg Miller
219, Carolyn Carter 227.and Brenda Dineen
252.
The New -Gals took two points and
received good games form Nancy Schilbe,
bowling 199 and Sharon Marshall bowling
191 and 199 with a triple of 523.
Marion Beacom led the Marionettes to a
five point win over the Blazers when she
bowled a 200 and a 222 with a 611 triple. Ett
Bradley and Betty Fisher also added to the
win with scores of 198 and 235 respectively.
The Blazers gained two points with high
games from Earleen Spain with 191, Fran
Rae 242 and Joyce' Hamilton 258.
Barb's Bunnies, formerly • known . as
Barb's Babes, bowled against 100 per cent
of their average and took five points.
Strong efforts were given by Joyce Pettus
with 181, Bev Whetstone 221, Barb Almasi
231 and Dorothy Bourdeau 244 with a 620
triple.
Sandy Fielder won the weekly draw.
Viking runners r
fare well at
cross country
GDCI Viking runners fared well in their
competition Friday at St. Marys. Three
teams, the midget and senior girls, who
finished second and the senior boys, third-
place finishers, now move on to WOSSA
competition this Friday.
Excellent races were run by Shane
Worsell, Greg Townsend, Baird Robinson -
and Paul Van Rooy. Jenny Cunningham
also put in a convincing effort. Julie
Pentland, Leslie Meyers and Joy Mabon
faced strong competition in a challenging
field.

The Blazers are heading for first place in
the league as they took all seven points from
the New -Gals. Good games rolled by June
Rourke with 154, Earleen Spain with 173,
Jean Pinder with 238 and. Joyce Hamilton
with 593 triple.
The New -Gals put up a gallant effort with
good games by Mavis Fisher with 183, Nan-
cy Schilbe with 186 and Doreen Leeson with
512 triple.
•Auleen's Angels and the Marionettes split
the points with the Angels coming away with
four. The Angels were led by Carolyn Carter
with 196;579 triple and Brenda Dineen with
261, 630 triple.
The Marionettes came away with three
points, led by Alice Mero with 157, Ett
Bradley with 185, Marion Beacom with 205,
Betty Fisher with 213, Kit Smith with 188
and John Crawford with 236, 551 triple.
Barb's Babes were on a roll as they took
all seven points from the .Wallbangers.
Great games by Joyce Pettus with 168, Bev
Whetstone with 204, Mary Lynne Telford
with 214, Barb Almasi with 236, and Dorothy
Bourdeau with 266, 652 triple.
The Wallbangers had bad luck but good
games from Trish Deighton with 184, Sandy
Fielder with 185, Ann Smith with 187, Helen
Lewis with 208 and Dianne Scott with 243,
618 triple. •-
The Oldtimers were bowling against 100
per cent of their averge and took five points.
Good games rolled by Joyce Atchison' with '
174, Kris Miller with 193, and Bev Million
with 206, 218, 253, 677 triple which wak 170
pins over her average.
Winner of the weekly draw was Gladys
Nicholson. - •
At the Thursday night men's bowling
league, the Sunny's took two points from
Lakeport Advertising. Walter Bell took the
lead with a total of 640. It was one of those
nights.
Lakeport Advertising took five points led
by Gord Ferguson with 693.
Selinger's Spoilerstook five points led by
Grant Langlois with 689 and Ray's. Rollers,
previously known as Six Pack, took two
points from Selinger's Spoilers led by
Doug Haskell with 599, bowling 20 points
over his average.
Bruinsma's Bombers split the . points
with North End Marina. Bruinsma's
Bombers took four points led by Joe
Rooseinalen, bowling 43 over his average. ,
North End Marina took three points led by
Brian Brindley bowling 53 points over his
average.
High single for the night was Rick
Duckworth with a 703. ,
Bridge .scores
The Goderich Duplicate Bridge Club held
a two -session Swiss Team event on October
7 and 14 at the Legion Hall. Eleven teams
competed, directed by Mary Ann Dempsey
and Cathy McDonald.
Out of eight possible wins, the team of
Audrey Tobin, Jane Cere, P.K. Venki and
Aelian Weerasooriya came first with seven
wins.
Second with six wins was the team of
Theresa Donatis, Marion Lane, Pat Stringer
and Cathy McDonald.
Third was the team of Tom Fox, Ron
Moore, Graham Yates,. Brian Reeve. and
Dave Jefferson, with five and a half wins,
followed by the team of Mary Ann Dempsey,
Dawna Spraub, Mary Donnelly and Eleanor
Erskine in fourth position,
Next came the team of Jean Papernick,
Louise Hetherington, Verna Worthy and
Nuala Conlon.
President's Cup was played on October 21
with everone is welcome to the Olympiad
Fund game (special rating points) on Oc-
tober 28.
ATV race to be held
VARNA - On October 26 the Hully Gully
track will be rearranged into an ATV style
track for the Ontario All Terrain Vehicle
Associates Championship (OATVA) race.
Once again with cash prizes for mod
classes and trophies for stock classes plus
valuable OATVA points for the the 1986
season up for grabs, all parts of Ontario
will be showing at Hully Gully this
weekend.
It plans to be an exciting weekend of rac-
ing with 10 different classes running, from
the "Out of the Field" class right up to the
alcohol burning open modifieds,dall on On-
tario's premier natural terrain ATV race
facility. There will also be special races
for young children and mothers.
Local riders to watch will be Doug Wolfe
of Bornholm, the Knoop brothers o
Goderich, Paul Farquahar of Clinton
Terry MacGregor. of Kippen and Chuck
Collins and Jason Hayter of Varna.
Sunday morning there will be a pancake
breakfast at 9 a.m. with time trials a
noon. Races will begin at 1 p.m. sharp.
