Enterprising seniors plan meeting
HOLMESVILLE - The Enterprising
Seniors will meet October 16 at 8 p.m. in the
community centre here.
The Enterprising Seniors were saddened
at the passing of member Ruth Morrison.
Sympathy ' of the group goes to Murdock
Morrison.
Worship Service was held Sunday morn-
ing with Rev. Becktel officiating and John
Grendius as organist.
Get Well wishes to Clarence Perdue who is
a patient in Clinton Public Hospital.

Retirees
honored
by boar
Four retiring staff members were
"honored by the Huron -Perth County Roman
Catholic Separate School Board at a trustee -
staff dinner in Seaforth Friday night.
Sister Lorraine Cote retired as special
education resource teacher at St. Mary's
School, Goderich, in June.
After graduating from London Normal
school in 1942. Sister Lorraine taught in.
Kent County, London, Windsor and Kinkora
before spending the last 14 years in
Goderich. She now lives at the St. Joseph's
Nether House in London.

School, Clinton, in June.
Since graduating from Stratford Normal
school, Nogalo has taught in Stanley
Township, Winnipeg, Ottawa, London, Sault
Ste. Marie and Dublin before spending the
last three years in Clinton. -
She and her husband will continue living
at. their country home near Clinton.
Two other staff members retiring at the
end of June were Gerry Merkel of Stratford
and Cecil Haid of RR 4, Listowel. Merkel
had been a school secretary at,St. Michael's
School in Stratford for 14 years and Haid
was a bus driver for St. Mary's School,
Hesson, for 20 years and for the first couple
of years he did double duty with the bus. He
brought' in two loads of students every
school day.
Wawanosh
votes for
new project
West Wawanosh Township council voted
unanimously in favor of a proposed project
by A.J. Sherwood to develop a recreational
area at Lot 19, Concession 4 to be known as
Sherwood Forest Lodge.
Council also directed the road
superintendent to contact applicants for
part-time winter jobs with the township to
see if they would be prepared to work at a
rate of $6 an hour for the first 50 hours and
thereafter at $7 an hour.

Lapp's home on Sept. 30 at 2 p.m. Mrs. L.
Archambault opened the meeting with an
amusing reading". I am' fine, Thank you".
Mrs. T. Rutledge conducted the business
and Mrs. R. Archambault gave the
treasurer's report.
The foster child is paid until the end of Oc-
tober. It was decided that at the next
meeting a final decision be made whether to
continue supporting the foster child or
donate a substantial fund for well drilling.
Mrs. T. Rutledge offered her home for a
working night on Oct. 13 for the Booster Club
Bazaar on Nov. 15.
Mrs. J. Vervey invited the club to her
home on Oct. 28 for the annual. Halloween
Masquerade. Mrs: L. Penfound and Mrs. G.
McClinchey will be in charge of it and Mrs.
T. Rutledge and Mrs. E. Lapp in charge of
the lunch. The draw was won by Mrs. H.
Hunking and as it was her birthday. Happy
Birthday was sung.,
Election of officers followed and everyone
agreed to remain in service for another
year. The phone committee is to remind

4-H CLUB

The second meeting of the "Auburn Milk
Mates" was held on Sept. 29 at Rosemary
Kibbles home with 14 members present.
Theminutes of the last meeting were read
by Anita Gross. A title page and club name
was selected and the Auburn 4-13 Club has
become the "Auburn Milk Mates."
The home activities were discussed as

the roll which was "Name dif-
ferent kinds of milk your family uses and
how they are used." Members read and-

The "Auburn Milk Mates" had their third
4-H meeting on Oct. 6 at the home of Glenyce
McClinchey. Eleven members we're preent.
°The roll call"What type of cheese does your
family buy" was answered by all members.
Information was read and discussed about
cheese - classification, cooking kinds of
cheese, and cheese strung tins. Members en-
joyed baked cheese souffle and baguette as
romage. All members gained knowledge of
the Canada's Food Guide and why we should
read the labels on cheese.
