Front wheel drive Tracer
import for Ford from Taiwan

Lincoln dealer James MontgO ery will be
displaying the latest additions to his fleet at
the Oct. 9 car show Wheels 87 on Lambton
Street.
Mr. Montgomery spent last 'week in
Halifax attending the Federation of
Atttomobile Dealers Association convention
but he will be on hand at the car show.
The newest member ,of the Ford -Mercury
fleet is the Mercury Tracer. Designed to
compete with the smaller imports, the
Tracer GS has the advantage of including
standard AM -FM radio -and a block heater
on top of• its three year premium, protection
plan:
Front -wheel -drive compact
The Tracer is an all new aerodynamically
styled front -wheel -drive compact car. It will
be imported exclusively for the Canadian
market from Ford Leo Ho in Taiwan.
All Tracers are powered by a 1.6 litre
engines and their 94.7 inch wheelbase and
fully independent suspension provide an ex-
cellent ride and, handling for a compact car.
Also hot off the production lines is the
popular Mercury Sable.
1 models of the six passenger Sable are
ed by a 3.0 litre V-6 engine. Electronic
stereo radio with four speakers,
lamps, passenger grab handles,
illumination, package shelf
e,°rear seat heat ducts and rear seat
drests are all standard equipment on the
•
Sable Sedan.
Also new out this year is the Ford
Escort."The best selling car in the world,"
in the words of general manager Paul
Lawless.
Canada's best selling 1986 model the Ford
Tempo, will also be hitting the market soon.
In the first.l1 months of 1966 Ford's Tem-
po outsold all other ears in. Canada, -in-
cluding the highly touted Hyundai Pony and
the Honda Accord, he said.
Due 'to a high increase in ;sales Mr.
Lawless was not sure which 1987 models will
be featured at the car show but he is assured
that the new models are now available soon
on the sales: lot.
The, Montgomery rramf, has been
synonymous with car sales in this area since
1948 when James' father Gordon opened a
Ford Dealeship in Lucknow. In 1973 sons
James arid Ian Montgomery took over the
Lucknow business and in April of 1982 they
bought the Ford -Lincoln dealership in Kin-
cardine from Glen Huron Ford.
The Kincardine staff totaled six in 1982,
but that number has grown to eight full time
employes and one part time.
The staff in the Kincardinb dealership
are: Owner Manager James Montgomery,
general manager Paul Lawless, salesman
Jamie Rowe, bookkeeper Kimberley Far-
rell, parts manager Don Arscott, service
manager John Munro, mechanics Rich Hill
and Mike Hertel and part time employee
Gail Munro.
