Return of balloon is finale
of . Sesquicentennial celebrations
For some, Colborne Sesquicentennial is
over, to others the memory of old friends
will linger. Others will enjoy looking over
the books and pictures of Colborne and for
two young boys there was something
special. It was after the Colborne Ses-
quicentennial Church Service on Sunday,
July 20 that the committee had the balloon
release which marked the finale of the
celebration.
A thousand balloons, each with a tag with
the . senders name, floated upward and
caught the wind current and were soon out
of sight. That Sunday evening, a sbt year-
old boy, Christopher Scott of Helm Ave.,
Cambridge while walking around the block,
picked up the remains of a balloon with a tag
"Walter Ribey, RR 6, Goderich" and return -
or) if to Walter. As a reward each boy will
receive a t -shirt with the townsrap civ . A
special thanks to the two boys. Well, at least
someone, several miles away took the time
to send the tag back and make a finale to the
celebration.
