Skaters passing tests included: from Clinton, Preliminary Dance, Canasta Tango, Amy Lebeau; Swing Dance, Sarah Lebeau, Kelli - Lyn Jerome; Junior Bronze Dance, Fiesta Tango, Krista McAsh; Willow Waltz, Stacey Reid; Senior Bronze Dance, 14 Step, Judy Horton, Kyra Aylsworth; Preliminary Free Skate, Stacey Reid. from Goderich, Preliminary Figure, Tara MacKinnon, Kendra Fry, Julie Cook; Preliminary Dance, Swing Dance, Kendra Fry, Becky Schuett; Junior Bronze, Fiesta Tango, Julie Cook; Senior Bronze, 14 Step, Gifu gn n9\144.1.1 Paula Glew: Fax Trot. Paula Glew. The Capadian Figure Skating Associa- tion tries to encourage young skaters to become involved in judges' training to become official CFSA judges. Part of this training involves "trial judging" at a test day. The following skaters acted as trial judges at the test day Sunday, from Clin- ton, Jacquie Draper and from Goderich, Susan Cook, Teresa Ferguson, Emma Hollingworth, Tammy Marshall and Sonya McCallum. A number of the senior skaters will try junior and senior silver and gold level tests at a test day in Wingham, October 7 The Goderich Figure Skating Club's regular winter season begins October 4. The club is still taking registration at the skating booth at the arena. Bruinsma Bombers have highsg single in men's action players out to bowl. Melba Maillet was the winner of $15 in the league's 50-50 draw. The proceeds will go towards the Christmas roll. Thursday night in the major mens bowl- ing league, September 25, 1986, Bruinsma Bombers took five points from Lakeport Advertising led by Don Carrick with the high single 331 and the high triple 784. Lakeport Advertising took two points by Brian Stewart bowling 25 points over his average. The Spoilers took five points from North End Marina led by Mike Pottle with a 612 points, 174 points over his average. North End Marina took two points by Jim Tyo by bowling 128 over his average. Suny's took five points from Six Pack led by Ben Prouse bowling 53 over his average. Six Pack took two points from Suny's led by Lloyd Haskell: by bowling a determined game 195, 199, 200. The Oldtimers were in fine form as they blanked Auleens Angels. It was a team ef- fort with good games by Cris Reed 178, Bev Million, 193, Nancy White 204, Kris Miller 206, Melba Maillet 228, 609 triple. High roller for the Angels was Brenda Dineen with 215 single and 558 triple. The Wallbangers hada good night taking all seven points from the Newkids. Team leaders were Ann Smith 198, and Sandy Fielder (217) 575 triple. The Newkids put up a good fight and high bowler was Sharon Marshall (188) 511 triple. Barb's Babes took five points from the Blazers and were led by Shirley Kennedy 229, and Dorothy Bourdeau (281) 643 triple. The Blazers won two points led by Earleen Spain 169, and Jean Pinder (179, 209) 519 triple. The Marionettes were bowling against 100 percent of their average but were unable to get the' required number of Grass drag series , to 'start October 5 Motocross action finished the year out on a good note as fine weather prevailed for the race on Sunday, September 28 at Hully Gully. Sunday featured some of the best racing all year, with seniors and experts turning out in full force for the Ontario high points. Local°rifler Jim Dickens of Hensall put in a good ride and finished third overall in the 80A class. Clinton rider Dave Andrews also had a good day, finished 8th in the 125B class. Chuck Collins of Varna finished 8th in the 250 Expert class. Club holds President's Cup night ht President's Cup. night • was held . at the Goderich Duplicate Midge Club held on September 23. An eight table Mitchell game was played and average was 84. North - South: 1st Cathy McDonald and Evelyn Galbraith (1st overall) 99 pts. 2nd Eleanor Erskine and Ron Moore, 97.5` pts. On Sunday, October 5 the first race of the Yamafest Grass Drags series will be held at Hully Gully, featuring amateur stock classes up to the unlimited open modified alcohol burning snowmobile. The grass drags will be on a 500' grass strip. See the skis jump and the dirt fly, as these machines reach close to 100 mph. Free pancake breakfast on Sunday morning from 9-11, amateur ,stock 11 - noon, stock and mod classes noon - 3; ATV drags 3-4,' and water skimming at 4 pm. PROFESSION GROOMING Zjteeux1 'atea for July.
