The Square is being resurfaced this year as part of the town's
regular road maintenance program. Work crews are scraping
off the old asphalt and expect to finish this portion of the job in a
day or so. The new asphalt will be laid when Lavis Construction
paves the reconstructed portion of Elgin Avenue. Town ad-
ministrator Larry McCabe expects resurfacing of The Square to
begin in a couple of weeks. The last time The Square was'irt+sur-
faced was in 1955. (photo by Sharon Dietz)
Allegations are aimed at chief' librarian
headquarters staff about the various
problems.
"It was a complete surprise to me when
these concerns were brought to me. I never

report to council on the matter "by.
September, or October, but we can't
guarantee anything".

recommendations. The matter should be
before this body and not on the streets of
Huron County where it is presently," said
Johnston.
Lionel .Wilder, Reeve of Hay Township,
says the morale of the staff and the chief
librarian has suffered severely because of
the situation which has been in the hands of
the Library board for the past two months.
"Patience is going to run thin very soon.
It's the people of Huron County who will suf-
fer," said Wilder.
Cunningham said he realizes the morale
at the library headquarters is not high, but
he says he wasn't aware that any problems
existed until -he first received a verbal,
report and later two written reports by
