GODERICH SIGNAL -STAR, WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 3, 1986—PAGE 3B P SUNk--7-)ET GOLF BY ROSSLYN ELLIOTT Amidst scowling winds and bitter cold, Jennifer Lavis from Kleinburg managed to secure low gross of the day with an 85 at the Ladies' Invitational. Jennifer is the sister-in-law of Ann Lavis, the Ladies' On- tario Amateur Champion. Low net of the day went to Heather Galloway of Stratford. Eighty-five par- ticipants braved the elements to be later rewarded by an extensive prize table and ham and turkey dinner. First flite low gross was Evelyn Evers of Kincardine with an 87 and low net was Elva Ross of Markdale. Sunset winners in- cluded Marg Ronaldson and Della Bedard. Second flite low gross was won by Betty McKerrol of Owen Sound and low net was Ferri Wylie of Wingham. Sunset winners were Shirley Baechler, Mary Lynne Telford and Joan McDougall. Third flite low gross went to Sunset's Ellen Connelly and low net was Betty Vock. Sunset wishes to thank their sponsors for helping to make this event a success. Kathy MacDonald again won low gross first flite on Ladies' Nite on Thursday. Se- cond low gross was claimed by Marilyn Graham and low net went to Joyce Bolton. In second flite, Mary Lynne Telford secured low gross and Ellen Connelly, low net. Betty Fuller, alone took low gross third flite followed by Dorothy Bedard in fourth flite with low gross and Judy Lajeunesse with second low gross. The final Junior Day saw Tom Durnin win first flight first low gross and Mike Bearige, first low net. John Lavis took se- cond low gross and Tim Connelly carded second low net. Second flite low gross was Jason Cook and Jason Lajeunesse with low net: The Juniors enjoyed a complimentary lunch and prizes. Due to inclement weather half of the Men's Nite was rained out but Brian Reeve still managed to secure low gross of the ,day followed by Harvey Livingstone with low net. Friday's Mixed Tow -Ball was a special event as Mary Lynne and Stan Telford and Ellen and Stan tConnelly prepared a fish fry for participants. Paul- Baechler and Judy Lajeunesse,placed.first followed by Al MacDonald and Betty Fuller and George Bolton and Joan McDougall. The Lucky Draw was won by Al Mac- Donald and Kathy McDonald. The next mixed Two -Ball will be held on Friday, September 5th at 6;00 p.m. If you happen to visit. the Sunset and realize that something is missing, it could be that you have noticed the lack of clubhouse staff. As Labour Day weekend passes, the clubhouse staff will have departed to seek their individual interests. Christeen Stapleton will be studying Physical Education at Laurentian Univer- sity while Lisa Engelstad travels to Guelph University to study General Arts. John Freeman will be attending King's College, affiliated with the University of Western Ontario at which he plans to pur- sue business studies. Roz Elliott is return- ing to King's College, UWO, to a second year Combined Honours English and History Degree.
