The more I learn about it, the more Interesting it is." Powers says that Tai Chi is something that people do for a lifetime. "I've seen movies of China where hun- dreds of people are doing Tai Chi early in the morning or at sunset as a constant part of their lives. And, I find that very accom- modating," she says. Powers, who works at Blyth Festival, says the classes started at the theatre because it was believed that theatre people would be most interested in Tai Chi. But, more and more local people have taken an interest in the classes so that they may continue into the fall and winter. 'It would be nice to maintain weekly Tai Chi classes," she says. The instructors from Stratford say they'll be teaching Tai Chi in Blyth at 10 a.m. on Sunday mornings until the snow flies. Aliens hold reunion in Colborne Twp. This weekend of. The doyenne - Olive Allen McCormick of Muncie, Indiana, celebrated her 84th birth- day on Aug. 26 in Goderich - her birthplace. The Legion week committee of Branch 109, chaired by First Vice President Stan Profit has completed its plans to celebrate Legion week and promote the positive im- age of the branch among the membership., and the communi$'• " �ig.,.a The initial event will be a memorial ser- vice at the Veteran's Plot at the Maitland Cemetery when those who served Canada in times of war and peace will be remembered. The decoration day parade will form up, Play your part • rain or shine, in Legion dress and medals at the rear or east side of the cemetery at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 21 and march to the Veteran's Plot for the memorial service at 2 p.m. conducted by branch padre, Rev. G.L. Royal. A bus will leave the the Legion hall at 1:15 p.m. for those requiring transportation to and from the cemetery. Associate members and members of the community are invited. On. Monday, Sept,.22,- a.fall fashion show by the Fashion Shoppe of Goderich will be held in the Jubilee Room at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. On Tuesday, Sept. 23 at 1:30 p.m., all senior citizens are invited to the Vimy Lounge for a euchre party.. Mixed euchre will also be played on Thursday at 8 p.m. On Wednesday, Sept. 24 from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., the branch is having a noon lun- cheon m the Vimy Lounge. Also from noon to 5 p.m., a full Legion display will be shown along with tours of the facilities. On Friday, a chicken barbecue from 5 to 8' p.m. will be held on the parking lot and a free dance will,follow at 9 p.m. in the Vimy Lounge. On Saturday, all kids are invited to a car- toon show at 2 p.m. with free pop and pop- eorn.
