"Instead it's a relaxing non -conscious
form of concentration. The more I learn
about it, the more Interesting it is."
Powers says that Tai Chi is something
that people do for a lifetime.
"I've seen movies of China where hun-
dreds of people are doing Tai Chi early in
the morning or at sunset as a constant part
of their lives. And, I find that very accom-
modating," she says.
Powers, who works at Blyth Festival,
says the classes started at the theatre
because it was believed that theatre people
would be most interested in Tai Chi. But,
more and more local people have taken an
interest in the classes so that they may
continue into the fall and winter.
'It would be nice to maintain weekly Tai
Chi classes," she says.
The instructors from Stratford say
they'll be teaching Tai Chi in Blyth at 10
a.m. on Sunday mornings until the snow
flies.

Each year in Canada, about 70 young
children are killedand 4000 are injured in
car crashes.
The latest national survey showed that
almost 80% of children under 5 are not
being protected adequately in motor vehicles.
Transport Canada sets tough safety
standards that
manufacturers car-
riers, child safety ;eats and booster seats
must meet.
You can provid i the best protection for
your children by sacuring them in a properly
installed seat, anchored to your vehicle by
