WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 27, 1 88 THE PLANNING ACT, 1983 NOTICE OF THE PASSING OF A ZONING BYLAW RY THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF GODERICH TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the TOWN OF GODERICH passed By-law 78-1986 on the 18th day of August, 1986, under Section 34 of the Planning Act, 1983. AND TAKE NOTICE that any person or agency may appeal to the Ontario Municipal Board in respect of the By-law by filing with the Clerk of the TOWN OF GODERICH, not later than the 22nd day of September, 1986, a notice of appeal setting out the objection to the by - and the reasons in support of the objection. AN EXPLANATION of the purpose and effect of the by-law, describing the lands to which the by-law applies, and map showing the location of the lands to which the by-law applies are provided below. Larry McCabe Clerk Treasurer TOWN OF GODERICH 57 West St., GODERICH, Ont. -N7A 2K5 (519) 524-8344 By-law 78-1986 has the following purpose and effect: By-law 78-1986 changes the zoning on Part 9, Plan 22R-1172 (Part Lot 4, Conc. 2) from "Light Industrial - Holding (M1 -H)" to "Highway Commercial (C3-8)" to permit the establishment of a retail furniture store. The by-law restricts the use of the subject property to a furniture store only. This by-law amends Zoning By-law 38-1985. SCHEDULE 1 CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF GODERICH BYLAW 781986 WHEREAS the Municipal Council of the Corporation of the TOWN OF GODERICH considers it advisable to amend ZONING BYLAW 38-1985 of the Corporation oh the TOWN OF GODERICH; NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the Corporation of the TOWN OF GODERICH ENACTS as follows: 1. Schedule "A", Key Map 3, is hereby amended by changing from "Light Industrial - Holding M1 -H)' to "Highway Commercial (C3-8)", the zone symbol of the property indicated "zone change to C3-8" on the attached Schedule "A". 2. Schedule "A", Key Map 3 of By-law 8-1985 is hereby amended and replaced with Schedule "A", Key Map 3 attached hereto, which is declared to be part of this by-law. 3. Section 12 of By-law 38-1985 is hereby amended by the addition of the following section: 12.2.4.8. Notwithstanding the provisions of Section 12.1. hereof to the contrary, the lands zoned C3-8 on Key Map 3 may be used for a retail furniture store only. All other applicable provisions of this by-law shall apply. 4. This By-law shall come into effect pursuant to Section 34(19) of The Planning Act, 1983. Purpose and Effect: By-law 78-1986 changes the zoning of Part 9, Plan 22R-1172 (Part Lot 4, Conc. 2) from "Light Industrial - Holding (M1 -H)" to "Highway Commercial C3-8)" to permit the establishment of a retail furniture store. The by-law restricts the use of this parcel to only a retail fur- niture store because of the lack of municipal services at the subject property. This by-law amends By-law 38-1985. 2. The Association is sponsoring a one day conference for volunteers entitled, "The Important Business Of Running Your Non - Profit Organization". The workshop is aimed at volunteers working as executive members in non- profit groups and participants range from sports organizations and arts groups, to service clubs and fraternities in Huron, nteers to be n September 27 Perth, Grey, Bruce and North Wellington Counties. The workshop met with much success when first offered last September with 100 volunteer executive members taking part. This year's conference should bring the same results with a top notch list of profes- sional resource people offering sessions on the following topics: Leading and Manag- ing Your Organization; Communication Skills and Time Management;. and Fun- draising. A keynote address entitled "The Challenge to the Volunteer Executive" leads off the conference. The Volunteer Workshop will be held at Walkerton District Secondary School on Saturday September 27, 1986. Cost per per- son is $25.00 and lunch is included in this price. Hanover Recreation Director Mike Dunlop, Chairman of the conference com- mittee, hopes that the workshops can pro- vide information and resources to com- munity volunteers to improve their effec- tiveness in their respective organizations. Lawn Bowling season winding up The Goderich lawn bowling club is beginning to wind up the tournaments for this year but jitney games will continue for at least another month. On August 4, a mixed pairs was held with .seven greens in play. First prize was awarded to Mr. and Mrs, Harvey Mc- Callum, Clinton; second to Mr. end Mrs. Art Finlayson, Seaforth; third prize going to Mr. and Mrs. Jack Gilbert, Goderich. Consolation prize went to S. 'Bryans and partner, Mitchell. On August 27, a ladies trebles is being held in Goderich, starting at 10:30 am with a pot luck lunch at noon. September 10 is the date for a men's pairs tournament starting at 1:30 pm. Several Goderich ladies took in local tournaments with Peg Lumsden and Kay Short winning third prize in Atwood. On August 19, a carloadwent to Atwood and Willa Williams and Myrtle Mullett came home with first prize. This was Myrtle's first tournament out of town. On September 3, there is to be a Presi- dent's Tournament at the club house with Kentucky Fried Chicken and all the trim- mings served at 5:30 pm. Please sign up on the list posted inside the, club house; the price is $4.00 each. Bowling is to follow with two prizes donated by President Norma. The fall meeting and pot luck supper will be held on September 29 at 5:30 pm. All members are cordially invited to attend this important meeting. Sherwood Express claim ball hockey title with thrilling 6-5 overtime win The Sherwood Express were crowned the new ball hockey champs with a 6-5 overtime victory over the defending cham- pion Parkhouse. The victory was 'Sher - wood's 22nd of the year against one loss and three ties under coach Gary Abbott. In the first game of the final Sherwood defeated the Parkhouse with a 7-3 victory which set the stage for the second game cliff hanger. In game 2 Tim Lewis scored early on a good second effort as he took a pass from lineman 'John Thompson and beat goaltender Fred Shoemaker. Sherwood went ahead 2-0 on Dennis Kerr's goal but Jeff Denomy's `goal made it 2-1 with Rob McDonald and Bruce Shear - down assisting. John Thompson made it 3-1 before Paul Kelly beat Express goalie Dave Gallow to tighten the score. The Express went ahead by 2 on Thomp- son's breakaway goal, on a nice pass from Rick Anderson and again the Parkhouse closed the gap on Bruce Sheardown's goal. John Thompson's third goal put Sher - woods ahead 5-3 before Paul Kelly and Harold Peet scored in the last 40 seconds to send the game into overtime. The thrilling overtime goal came when the ball was shot down the floor and John Thompson and Parkhouse goalie Fred Shoemaker raced for the ball. The players collided and Grant Garrow picked up the loose ball and put it in the net for the victory. . The players of the league appreciate the hard work of president Kevin Meriam and referee -in -chief Terry Miller. Hully:, Gully had action galore last weekend Motocross r. tying motion returned to Hul- ly Gull this ah++ iSuiaday. Jim Dickins of • HenSall finish „,seventh overall in the 80 A Class. John Kochan of Hensall finished tenth -in 4h8Jr, 125 B Class. Brian Keys of Seaforth finished eighth in the 250 Senior Class. The track was in excellent condition following•the heavy rain on Saturday. The berms and traction was excellent with Kevin Moore of Sarnia turning the track in a minute thirty. The next motocross race at Hully Gully will be held on September 7th with all classes running. ATV racing action continued with an ATV Supercross held at the Aylmer Fair on Sunday, August 24th. Local rider Paul Farquhar of Clinton hada big day racing in three classes. Farquhar finished third overall in the 200 Mod; second,pv)wr411 in the Open Mod 4 Stroke; and the winner •of the 200 Stock. Chuck Collins of Varna plac- ed third in the 250 Mod; 2nd in the Open Mod - 2 Stroke; and winner in the Open Mod - 4 Stroke.
