The Mosquitos wrapped up their season
by participating in the Huron Minor Soccer
Mosquito Tournament played in St. Colum -
ban last Saturday.
In the first game they defeated
Bryanston 2-0, with Jamie Redmond and
Bryan Pickell scoring one goal each. In the
second game they lost to Exeter "B" 7-0.
Coach Jeff Surridge felt that his team
put on their best performance of the
season against Bryanston. He was pleased
with the work of Goalkeeper Drew
Macauley,,, right-wing Donny . Rivers,
centre -back Jamie Redmond, and left -
back Colin Beier.
The Atoms travelled to Port Elgin a
week ago last Sunday to take part in the
Sportsfest Soccer Tournament.
In the first game they beat Owen Sound
3-1. Centre -forward Jeff Klages scored two
goals and inside -right Jason Meriam one.
In the next game they lost to Port Elgin
1-0. This game was decided by a shootout,
with Goderich being outscored 2-1.. Derek
Gilchrist netted the Goderich Goal.
Last Thursday the Atoms tied 1-1 at Kin-
cardine. Jason Meriam scored for

Goderich. Coach Al Fisher was impressed
by the performances of right -back Mark
Hoy, centre -half Derek Gilchrist, and
strikers Jeff Klages and Jason Meriam.
Next game for the Atoms is this Thursday
at St. Columban. (Kick-off: 7 p.m.)
The Squirts visited Dublin last Wednes-
day and overwhelmed St. Columban 5-0.
Centre -forward Marti/Johnston and inside -
left Matt Hunter scored two goals each,'
and outside -right Tim Powell one.
The Huron Minor Soccer Squirt Tourna-
ment was held in Goderich last Saturday.
Goderich lost the first game to. St. Colum -
ban 2-1. The score was tied 1-1 at the end of
regulation time, Mark Hunter scoring the
Goderich goal. The game was then decided
by a shoot-out with St. 'Columban scoring
three goals to one for Goderich, netted by
Mark Johnston.
Seaforth overpowered St. Columban 9-0
in the second game. They then went on to
win the tournament by downing Goderich
4-2 in the final game. Matt Hunter and
Terry Pardys scored a goal each for
Goderich. ,
