The workshop provides young peo- ple, ages 12 to 14, with the opportunity to participate in the creation of their own video soap opera. Wheeldon returns home You may well remember Barbara Wheeldon as "Faye" in "CHAPTER TWO", "Doris" in "NURSE JANE GOES TO HAWAII" and "Sister Bertha" in "SOUND OF MUSIC", if you have been a Huron Coun- try Playhouse patron for any length of time. Barbara returns to the Playhouse stage this', season to play the role of "Miss Han- nigan", the mean, dishonest villainess and hater of little girls — matron of The New York City Municipal Orphanage - Girls' An- nex in "ANNIE". The role of "Miss Han- nigan" requires a truly expert comedienne,- Wheeldon is that and much more. Most of Barbara's roles, stage and televi- sion, have consisted of numerous teachers, nuns and nurses. Her recent film credits in- clude "REALLY WIERD TALES", on which she worked with Katherine O'ara; as well as a TV -Ontario Series by the.name "DEAR AUNT AGNES",'in which she plays yet another teacher. She has also appeared in "HEDDA GABLER", "DAMES AT SEA", as well as a variety of television commercials. When not busy with television or theatre, Barbara is a very successful teacher work- ing with actors and young hopefuls, teaching (yet again), the techniques of television commercial acting. Her "How- to" book, called "THE CAMERA AND YOU", is in its second printing. As an actress, Wheeldon finds the character of "Miss Hannigan" "... a real stretch, because she really does like little girls".
