(photo by Paul Hartman) Livingston secures low net in Invitational : in 4.'f 'i :ink T • Sunset's annual Men's Invitational entertained 156 entries with a challenging course, accomodating weather and an ex- tensive roast dinner. Early risers teed off .as early as 7:00 a.m. and were welcomed by Miss Blue Light's calming voice as she saw them off the first tee. Later in the afternoon, she provided a Twist Shandy presentation for thirsty participants. . Low Gross of the Dav was David Bowie of Fanshawe with a 71 score. Harvey Livingston of the-. Sunset secured Low net of the 'Day. Steve Davey of . Ingersoll spotlighted first flight low gross with a 74 and Doug Elliott of Seaforth took low net. A Sunset winner in first flite was Brian Reeve with a 76. Second flite low gross was taken by 13ob Armstrong of Strathroy with a 74 and low net went to Don Bedour. Sunset winners in this flight included Ken Straughan, Al McDonald, Tom' Moore, Dave Ronaldson, Bob McDougall, Stan _Connelly,, _Lioyd ., Schonehals and Larry Gaynor. Sporting an 80, Ken Windsor of Strathroy took,third flite low gross while. Bill Yungblut of Sunset won low net. Other Sunset winners were Bill Bode, Bert Cor- bett, Jim Mero, -Greg Jervis, Bob Demp- sey, Don Fuller, Delmer Bedard and Leon Gaynor. Fourth flite low gross was captured by' Doug Turkheim of Bayview with an 87. Low net followed with Bob Kirk of Bayview: Ron Harris, George Williams, Kirk Livingston, Gord Kemp and Bill Stratton were other Sunset winners. Sunset appreciates their sponsors and also the efforts of Ralph Kinswell, Roz Elliott,/ Art Burt and Bert Corbett who assisted in making this event, once again, our outstanding event of the year. After the extensive , preparations and responsibilities involved with the Men's In- vitational came to pass, the staff at the Sunset were more than ready to have their day in the sun. Winner of the event was the team consisting of Tim Willows, Leroy Bedour, Mike Beange and Roz Elliott. Paul and Shirley entertained at their home afterwards offering much needed food and drink 'and a dip in the pool. The party spanned into the late hours as staff continued to provide impromptu performances. On Men's Nite, Tony Bedard continued his rule as Low Gross of the Day while Rick Turner took Low Net of the Day. Low gross first flite was taken by Brian Reeve and low net by Frank Graham. • Tim O'Brien secured low gross second fate followed by. Leon. Gaynor.withlow net.. Third flite low gross was Ron Harris and low net by Steve Graham. Ladies' Nite saw Kathy MacDonald take low gross in first flite followed by Marilyn Graham with second low gross and Joyce Bolton with low net. Mary Lynn Telford claimed second flite low gross and Joan McDougall won low net. Third flite was taken by Betty Fuller. $etty Helesic in fourth flite was first low gross with Dorothy Bedard as second low gross. The Mixed Two -Ball results found Mike Lajeunesse and Kathy MacDonald taking first, Paul Baechler and Ellen Connelly with second, Al MacDonald and Ruth Keene, third and George Bolton and Betty Fuller rounding up the pack. The next two - ball will be Friday, August 29. On the Ladies' scene, Ellen Connelly and Mary Lynn Telford both netted wins in Walkerton while Shirley Baechler and Roz Elliott were prize winners at Seaforth's Fun Nite.
