All past and present residents of Colborne Township are invited to join in with this renewing friendship event. Plan to attend. This will start at 2 p.m. and if possible bring your lawn chair, plate and cutlery. Dress of course is optional. Members of Tiger Dunlop Women's In- stitute are planning to attend Huron Country Playhouse, Grand Bend for the play "An- nie" on Aug. 28, for the afternoon performance. Mr. and Mrs. W.J. Swaffield, of Wickliffe, Ohio visited Mrs. Hume Clutton and other relatives in Goderich recently. Sincere sympathy to the family of the late John 'Kernighan of Goderich. Mr. Kernighan and his wife farmed for many years before moving to Goderich. Mrs. Gordon J. Kaitting has sold her home to Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Langford of Goderich and will . be moving to an apartment in Goderich. Colborne Township welcomes Mr. and Mrs. Langford and family to Colborne. WILSON REUNION About 120 descendants of Allan and Elizabeth Wilson held their 1986 reunion at Benmiller, June 28. They came from California, Michigan, Connecticut, Toronto, Whitby, Hamilton, Cochrane, Orilla and the immediate area. Each family head reported activities and changes in his or her branch since the last reunion in 1984. A minute of silence was observed in memory of four family members who died in the past two years including Edgar Stoll, Allan Stoll, Arnold Cooke and Marion Pischler. Quite a number had personal memories to - recount, of Allan and Elizabeth Wilson who were married in 1884 and lived near Rosseau, Muskoka, until coming to Col- . borne township in 1914. Eldest lady present was their daughter-in- law Blanche Wilson of Cochrane. Jean Sugyama of California, had come the greatest distance. Alletta Kirkbride of Cochrane shared a Feb. 8 irthdate with Elizabeth Wilson. Bill and Barbara Wilson of Whitby had a wedding anniversary closest to that of the Wilson grandparents. Reunion 1988 will be hosted by Bette and Stan Rohrer of Grand Blanc, Michigan. Happy Birthday to Mrs. E. Straughan on the occasion of her 96th birthday. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Jardin, Bonnie Armour and Mrs. William Straughan spent Sunday at Kincardine for a picnic with other members of the family. Sorry to report that Betty Marsh is a pa- tient in Alexandra Marine and General Hospital and had surgery last week. We wish heir a speedy recovery. Mr., and Mrs. Robert Young of Stratford and Craig Ritchie of Goderich and Mr. and Mrs. James Henry of Clawson, Michigan visited with Ellen Johnston and Laura Philips recently. Lloyd McLarty and Francis Youngblut called on Mr. and Mrs. Tom Lawlor on Sunday. Visitors with Frances Clark on the weekend were .Mr. and Mrs. Harry Fishback, M.J. Houston and J.C. Jamieson all of Toronto. W.M.S. The August meeting of the Presbyterian .W.M.S. was held at the home of Mrs. Roy Daer. The president.Martha Daer welcomed all. Lillian Leatherland read the Scripture. .The.meditation., was on Dorcas,.,"a woman full do good works". Mrs. Taylor of Hensall gave the study on Time and the many, uses of it. Every Mountain". Kevin Webster and Anita Gross were in charge of Sunday School. The minister Gary. Shuttleworth chose for his sermon "The doubts we have." Offering was received by Roger Cunn- ingham and Larry Plaetzer. Vacation Bible School Vacation 'Bible School is over at Knox United Church in Auburn. It was a pleasant week of Bible lessons, sports, music"and crafts. Fifty young people from ages 9 to 13 took part in these activities. The teachers for. the -classes 'were : nursery, Angela Milian-and Glenyce Young; kindergarten, Debbie Cun- ningham and Lori Armstrong; primary The second. annual Chamney reunion of the descendants of the late Robert Chamney and Clara Chamney was held at the East Wawanosh Conservation Park on Aug. 9. Happy Birthday was sung to Margaret Chamney of Windsor, whose birthday was that day. Games, races and a scavenger hunt were held for the children. The one with the most of their immediate family present was Verna Doerr. of Niagara Falls. Coming the farthest was Robin Hayden and family of Fort McMurray, Alberta. The youngest girl was Kathryn Chamney of Ottawa, youngest boy was Justin Chamney of Auburn. Oldest person was Margaret Chamney of^ Windsor. Pictures were shown from the last reunion and lots of reminiscing done. Happy Birth- day was sung toStuart Chamney *hose bir- thday is near the end of August.
