Goderich auto body repairman ies
RONALD GEORGE MCPHEE
Ronald George McPhee, 34, of Goderich,
died Aug. 4, 1986 at the Alexandra Marine
and General Hospital.
Son of Orval McPhee, of Auburn and the
late former Lily Helena Kerns, he was born
Oct. 3, 1951 in Warwick. An auto -body
repairman, he was self-employed at Ron's
Shell for two and a half years. He was also a
member of the United Church and the
Kinsmen.
He is survived by his wife, the former
Deborah Lynn Hoy, of Goderich whom he
married Sept. 24, 1977 at the North Street
United Church, Goderich.
Also surviving are three sons Robbie,
Ryan and Justin, all at home, his parents
Orval and Velma ;McPhee, of Auburn,
parents-in-law Robert and Dolores Hoy, of
Goderich, grandmother Lily Kerns, of
Goderich, sister Doris and her husband
Bruce Buttar, of Cobourg, two step -brothers
Douglas and his wife Faye Gibson, of
Wingham and Barry and his wife Verna Gib-
son, of Ridgetown and sister-in-law Kelly
Hoy, of Goderich.
He was predeceased by his mother Lily in
1974 and one brother John in infancy. •
Funeral services were held at McCallum
and Pella Funeral Home on Wednesday,
Aug. 6 with Rev. Gordon Pickell officiating
and Rev. Gary Shuttleworth assisting. In-
terment Maitland Cemetery.
Pallbearers included Don Scott, Bruce
Butter, John Miller, Teade Bakker, Walter
Marchl and Kirk Goddard. Honorary
pallbearer was Kevin Gibson.
GLEN LAYTON
Glen Walter Layton of R.R. 3, Clinton,
died at his residence on July 28, 1986.
He is survived by two brothers, Edward of
Clinton and Keith of R.R. 5, Clinton, one
sister, Verna (Mrs. Gordon Hildebrand) of
Seaforth, one son, Robert of R. R, 3, Clinton,
one daughter, Bonnie Strong of R.R. 5, Clin-
ton and his friend, Audrey Kerr, of
Goderich.
Funeral Service was held at the Beattie
Funeral Home in Clinton on Wednesday, Ju-
ly 30, with Reverend J. G. Vanslyke
officiating.
Interment Bairds Cemetery, Stanley
Township.
OBITUARIES
John Lindsay
John Douglas Lindsay of Chiniquy Street,
Bayfield, died at University Hospital, Lon-
don on August 5. He was 72 years old.
Mr. Lindsay was born on March 20, 1914 to
the late George and Eliza (Switzer) Lindsay
in Bayfield. On October 2, 1945 he married
Jeanne Dunn at the manse in Bayfield
United Church. Following their marriage,
Mr. Lindsay worked for the Department of
Highways for many years. In 1963 he took
theposition of road superintendent for the
Village of 13Ayfield, a position he held for 17
years until retiring in 1980.
Mr. Lindsay, a member of St. Andrews
United Church, Bayfield, was also a
member of the Huron County Road
Superintendents Association, a member of
the Bayfield Lions Club and a member of the
Bayfield Ever Young Club.
Mr. Lindsay is survived by three
children: George and his wife Clarkia of Qt-
tawa, Ellen and her husband James Bucher
of Clinton and Donald and his wife Barbara
of Bayfield. He is also survived by five
grandchildren, Nathan, Sheila and Nikki
Lindsay and Matthew and Mark Butcher.
,He is survived by five sisters: Mrs.
Charles (Jean) Bell, Mrs. William (Nora)
Orr, Mrs. Robert (Jesse) Blair, Mrs. James
(Pearl) Hutchings and Mrs. George
(Phyllis) Heard, all of Bayfield; and two
brothers, Brown Lindsay of Goderich
Township and George Lindsay of Paris.
A funeral service was held on August 8 at
Ball and Falconer Funeral Home, Clinton,
. with Rev. John Hoekstra and Rev. Douglas
Pitts, both of Bayfield, officiating.
Soloist was Mr. Lindsay'8 brother-in-law,
Ted Dunn who sang In The Garden.
Flower bearers were Robert Butcher,
Robert Dunn, Vincent Dunn, Wayne Dunn
and Larry Heard. Honorary pallbearers
were Arnold Makins, Ken Farmer, Ruggles
Jenkins, William Taylor and Grant Turner.
Active pallbearers were Donald Bell,
George Bell, Joe Brandon, Ken Brandon,
' Jack Dunn and Richard Penhale. '
Interment was in Bayfield Cemetery.
HARBtOR REPORT
The Algorail arrived light from Saginaw
on July 29 and cleared harbor with a load of
salt on July 30, bound for Detroit.
The Algowood arrived in Goderich Harbor
on July 31 with half a load of salt. It
departed the next day f,,r Cleveland, light.
The Agawa. Canyon ,arrived in Goderich,
light, from Cleveland on August 2 and
cleared harbor bound for Carolton,
Michigan on the same day.
The Algorail returned to Goderich from
Quebec City on August 4, light, and left for
Holland;�Michigan; tie same day with;a load
of salt.
The Algoway returned to Goderich Har-
bor from Oshawa, light, and departed for St.
Joseph with a load of salt on August 6.
On August 7, the Algoport arrived from
Picton, light. It departed the next day for St.
Joseph Dearing a load of salt.
The Elmglen arrived from Quebec City on,
August 3, light, to load wheat. It cleared har-
bor on August 5, bound for Port Macnickel
with a load of wheat.
The Franquelin,arrived from Midland on
August..8 light, and cleared harbor the next
day bound for Port Macnickel with a load of
- wheat.
The Elmglen returned to the Goderich
Harbor on August 9, light, and departed for

The tug boat, G. W. Rogers cleared harbor
on August 1, bound for Port Colborne. There
is some speculation that it has been sold.
The Canadian Coast Guard vessel, the
Boytender Montmorency, cleared Goderich
Harbor on August 2.
..DOROTHY (HALL) GREER
Dorothy Elizabeth (Hall) Greer, R.N., a
summer resident of Goderich Township,
died in St. Joseph's Hospital, London on July
18, 1986.
Mrs. Greer graduated from St. Michael's
School of Nursing in 1932. Two years later
she married Marshall William Greer and
resided in Toronto until his death in 1975.
She was predeceased by three sisters,
Eileen Hurlbut, Isobel Freeman, and Vic-
toria Davison, and two brothers, Ernest and
Percival Hall. She is survived by one sister,
Juan:t9 (Jon) Lester, Cambridge.
Beloved aunt of Mr. and Mrs. Pat Osborn
(Connie), Goderich Township; Mr. Jack
Hurlbut, Toronto; Mrs. Bill Fofonove
(Patricia); Mr. Doug Pogue (Mary Jane);
Mrs. Barry Heffernan (Cheryl Ann);'and
Mr. Paul Davison; all of Calgary, she is also
survived and missed dearly by many grand
nephews and nieces (Colleen Osborn).
Funeral Services were held on July 29,
1986 at St. Clements Church, Cambridge
(P), Ontario. Interment at St. Clements
Cemetery.
DOROTHY HAZEL ROSS
Dorothy Hazel Ross, 76, formerly of
Goderich, died at Windsor, Ontario on July
29, 1986.
Born on Feb. 9, 1910, in Weston, Ont., she
is survived by her husband Victor.
She is also survived by her step -son Mar-
vin and wife Doreen of Waterloo, and four
grandchildren.
She was predeceased by two sisters,
Isabelle and Arlene.
Funeral services were held in Windsor
Chapel Funeral Home on July 31, 1986.
Interment at Greenlawn Memorial
Gardens. -

NOTICE OF THE PASSING OF A
ZONING BY-LAW BY THE CORPORATIN OF
THE TOWN 'F GODERICH
TAKE NOTICE that the Council of; the TOWN OF GODERICH passed By-iaw 79-1986 on the
5th day pf August, 1986, under Section 34 of the Planning Act, 1983.
AND TAKE NOTICE that any person or agency may appeal to the Ontario Municipal Board
in respect of the By-law by filing with the Clerk of the TOWN OF GODERICH, not later than
the 11th day of September, 1986, a notice of appeal setting out the objection to the by-law
and the reasons in support of the objection.
AN EXPLANATION of the purpose and effect of the by-law, describing the lands to which
the by-law applies, and map showing the location of the lands to which the by-law applies
are provided below. The complete by-law is available for inspection at my office during
regular office hours.

By-law 79-1986 has the following purpose and effect:
By-law 79-1986 changes the zoning on Lots 1238, 1239, 1254 and 1255, Registered Plan
457 (Kinsmen property) from a "Minor Community Facility (CF1)" zone to a special "Minor
Community Facility (CF1-4)" zone to permit the establishment of a psychiatric clinic. This
by-law amends Zoning By-law 38-1985.
SCHEDULE 1
CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF GODERICH BY-LAW 79-1986
WHEREAS the Municipal Council of the Corporation of the TOWN OF GODERICH considers
it advisable to amend ZONING BY-LAW 38-1985 of the Corporation of the TOWN OF
GODERICH:
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the Corporation of the TOWN OF GODERICH ENACTS
as follows:
1. By-law 38-1985 is hereby amended by changing the zoning from "Minor Community Facili-
ty (CF1)" to "Minor Community Facility (CF1-4)" of the lands designated ''zone change
to CF1-4" on the attached Schedule "A"
2. Key Map 20, Schedule A, By-law 38-1985 is hereby deleted and replaced with amended
Key Map 20 attached hereto, which is declared to be part of this by-law.
3. The following section is hereby added to By-law 38-1985. 19.3.4. CF1-4 Notwithstanding
the provisions of Section 19.1 to the contrary, the property zoned CF1-4 on Key Map 20
may be used for a clinic as defined in By-law 38-1985. All other applicable provisions shall
apply.
4. This by-law shall come into force pursuant to Section 34(19) of the Planning Act, 1983.
