Sire Stakes
update
An update was received on this Thurs-
day's Ontario Sires Stakes races at
Goderich Raceway.
Jim Bissett, manager of the Raceway
says Ann Opal and Hornby Judy will not be
coming to Goderich. The story on page 12A
was placed before this update became
available.
"This leaves the stakes wide open for
some of the other horses," Bissett says, ad-
ding "this is our big night of the year as far
as stake races go. The provincial govern-
ment allocates several million dollars a
year to them. Goderich gets two', the last of
which occurs August 7.

Sesquicentennial was a success 1
From all reports Colborne Township Ses-
quicentennial was a personal and financial
success both from the standpoint of friend-
ships renewed.and co-operation in working
together.
It was encouraging how people responded
to the call from the Historical Display Com-
mittee for interesting artifacts and family
treasures and personal possessions to relate
our community history. Over 40 families co-
operated in thit phase of the Sesquicenten-
nial. Some articles we were not able to coor-
dinate in the display but we appreciated
your help. Geo. Robertson and committee
say thank you.
