Gordon Pickell - minister Mr. Robert Blackwell - organist FLORENCE ASHTON Florence Lillian Ashton, 56, of Goderich died at the Alexander Marina and General Hospital on Monday, July 28, 1986. A homemaker, she was a member of the Legion Ladies Auxiliary to Branch 109, Goderich and the Knox Presbyterian Church. Born on Nov. 10, 1929, in Goderich, she was the daughter of Matthew John Sproul and the late former Annie Barker. She is survived by her husband Harold Ashton, one daughter, Linda, Mrs. Edward Elliot, of Crediton, one sister, Viola Steels, of Sarnia and two granchildren, Edward Elliott and Katrina Lynn Elliott. She was predeceaced by one son, Harold James Ashton, three brothers Harold, Stanley and William Sproul, and two sisters, Evelyn Chambers and Gladys Jondreau. The funeral service was held in the Stiles Funeral Home chapel on Thursday, July 31, 1986 with Rev. Robert M. Bisset of the Knox Presbyterian Church officiating. Pallbearers were John Hodges, Jim Anderson, Gordon Smith, Wayne Linington, Charles Love and Cecil Pollock. Flower bearers were Edward Daniel Elliott and Katrina Lynn Elliott. A memorial service was conducted by the Ladies Auxilliary to Legion Branch 109 nn Wednesday evening. The auxilliary also •formed` an honor guard at the funeral. Interment at the Maitland Cemetery. GEOII E w BROOKS a,uvar,Vs. D. BROOKS George B. Brooks of Goderich, formerly of Wingham, died at Alexandra Marine and General Hospital on Thursday, July 24, 1986 in his 59th year. He is survived by his wife, the former Nancy Sievenpiper, five' daughters, Susan, Mrs. Nick Mastnak and Cherie Brooks, both of Kitchener; Patricia, Mrs. Carl Cook, of Clinton; Sandra, Mrs. Murray Hoggart and Mary Brooks, both of Goderich. Two sisters, Gertrude, Mrs. Alvin Stacey, and Joyce, Mrs. Murray McDougall, of R.R.2 Wingham and two brothers, Jack of Goderich and Robert of Wingham also Sur- vive, as well as five grandchildren. He was predeceased by his father, Clarence Brooks, his mother Agnes Fallis, and his brother Walter William. Funeral services were held at the McBurney Funeral Home, Wingham, Satur- day July 26, 1986. 'Interment Wingllam Cemetery. • GERTRUDE STAMPLFER • Gertrude Eva (Liu lby) Stampfler, of Burlington, formerly of Goderich, died at St Joseph's Hospital, London, on Saturday, Aug. 2, 1986. She was the wife of the late Paul G. Stampfler. She is survived by. one son, Richard of Burlington, one daughter, Judith, Mrs. George McLean; offilisOnburg,'two sisters, Theda, Mrs. Bud McCreath,, and Mrs. Marge McLean, one brother Bill Lumby, all three of Goderich, and two' grandchildren, Paul and Kevin McLean. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foun- dation or the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto will be received” as expressions of sympathy. ORVILLE.J. STANLEY . Clinton resident Orville J. Stanley died in Victoria Hospital, London on July 31. He was 66 years old. Born in Lucknow on May 25, 1920, he was the son of the late Ida P. Henderson and James Stanley. He was married to Betty I. Straughan in 1947 at the Benmiller United Church. Mr. Stanley once owned Stanley Brothers and the Clinton Meat Market. He was also the former owner of the Food Store in Grand Bend and Blue's Market in Goderich. Before his death, Mr. Stanley was the owner of the Goderich Vacuum Centre. Albng with his wife, Mr. Stanley is sunny-• ed by two sons, Jim of Clinton. and Paul of Toronto. Also -surviving are two sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Eltida (Clarence) Irwin of Lpcknow, Mrs. Edythe (George) Dunseath of Toronto, Eldon of Grand Bend and Bert of London. Two grandsons, two grand daughters, five nephews and two nieces also survive. ' Funeral services were held on August 2 at the Beattie Funeral Home in Clinton. Rev James Bechtel officiated and interment was held at the Clinton Cemetery. LISA ANN (MURRAY) HUNT Lisa Ann (Murray) Hunt, 19, died on Fri- day, July 25, 1986 at the South Huron Hospital, Exeter. She is, survived by her husband James (Jamie) Hunt, of Shipka and her parents Laverne and Joan Riley, of Oshawa, formerly of Ripley -Kincardine area and James - Murray and his wife Kathy, of Zurich. Also surviving are her brother David Mur- ray, of Walkerton,: grandparents Jim and Blanche Angus, of Holmesville, Elizabeth Riley, of Goderich and Lionel (Jack) Mur- ray, of Goderich, many aunts, uncles and 'cousins including Carol and Roy Lomas and family of Goderich, Jim and Marg Angus and Debbie, of Kirkton, Brian Fowler, of Nova Scotia, Ben and Katherine Botz and Mike and Donna Murray,. all of Goderich, Aunt Joan and family of Michigan, Ron and Wendy Riley and family of Grand Bend and Ken and Liz Riley, Of London. She will also be missed by her friend Carol Bushell of Kinloss, , one half-brother,' four ,tialf-sisters;; Aunt,'13ertha; of- Toronto,: Aunt Mary and family of IGodericb, Aunt Gladys and Uncle Ralph Caldwell and family of Blyth. Funeral services were held on Monday, July 28 at Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine. Interment Kincardine Cemetery..
