Ten young women took part in the Miss Port Albort Sesquicenten-
nial pageant held in June. From the left are Margaret Knoop, who

Jane Haskell is
Miss Port Albert
A seventeen year old high school student
was named Miss Port Albert Sesquicenten-
nial at a pageant held in June. Jane
Haskell will attend Goderich District Col-
legiate Instittte in grade 13 in the fall and
plans to become a physio -therapist. She
enjoys people and works as a hostess at
MacDonald's Restaurant where she
especially loves the kids.
Jane has lust returned from a trip to
Europe on the E. F. Institute for cultural
exchange program. Six students from
GDCI toured England, France, Morocco
and Switzerland accompanied by Paul
Howe, a French teacher at GDCI. They
travelled with studen,:s from
Newfoundland.
Jane is the daughter of Doug and Pat
Haskell of Port Albert. She represented W.
G. Thompson's in the pageant.
Mary Lynn Doherty, representing
Petrie's General Stores ndLaurie were Hayden,
reresenting Happy
first and second runnersup.
An honourable mention went to Mia
Dalton who represented Kingsbridge
Realty.
Members of the queen's court included

Judges for the pageant were Lois Ot-
tewell, a teacher at Brookside Public
.School; Dawna Richardson(, a beauty con-
sultant and R. G. Shrier, president of
Signal Star Publishing.
Pageant co-orditlators were Kelly
Brindley, Diane McLean and Pauline
Nicholson.
