Five generations of the Thompson family were together in Nova Scotia when members
-of the family from the Goderich area visited Avard Thompson of Pugwash, Nova Scotia.

Institute member speaks
about raising sheep
The July meeting of the Dungannon
Women's Institute was held at the home of
Myrtle Kerr, Goderich. The president,
Elmira Finnigan welcomed everyone.
The roll call, A Childhood Chbre, was
answered by 17 members and ope visitor.
A donation was made to the Lady Diana
Nursery School. Final details of the bus and
boat trip were announced.
Bev. Filder offered to make the quilt block
for the Huron County Pioneer Museum. Peg-
gie Purdon has made and sent one to the
Erland Lee Home.
The speaker needed no introduction, as
she is one of the group's members. Mary
Robson spoke on her pet subject, Sheep. She

•The emergency number for the Fire Department for
residents of Dungannon should read 528-3131, the
telephone number of the Lucknow Fire Department..
The emergency number for the Ambulance should
read 524-2656, the number for the Alexandra Marine
& General-Hospitars Ambulance service in Goderich.
Dungannon residents are advised to make these
changes in their copy of The Phone Book.

Dew worm races.
at Dunlop Days
Take part in the action at the Dew Worm
Races, one of many fun activities during
Goderich's Tiger'Dunlop Days August 15th
and 16th.
The thoroughbred worms take to the
track Saturday afternoon, approximately
3:45 p.m. at the town beach. A total of ten
worms can be on the track at one time and
racers have the option of bringing their
own champion or being_provicked one by a
local stable. For racing information con-

Get our grandma's recipe cards and
start baking your entry for Beta-Srgma-
Phi-Preceptor Chapters' Tiger Dunlop
Days Old Fashioned Baking Contest,
August 16th -10 a.m. at Courthouse Park in
Goderich.
In addition to baked goods made from
grandma's recipes there will also be a
special "Create A Tiger Dunlop Dish"
Category. Information about the Old
Fashioned Baking Contest is available by

Visit with Chisholms
Visitors with Catherine Chisholm and
Harry, for Colborne Days, were Mr. and
Mrs. Harry Herchert, and sons, Edwin and.
Kyle of Fairfax, Virginia, Mr. and Mrs.
Walter Chisholm of Sault Ste. Marie; Mr.
and Mrs. Edwin Herchert of St. Louis, Mon-
tana, and Mr. and Mrs. Brent Dytnent and
daughters, Jenny and Anne of London, On-
tario, The party, held .a birthday dinner
celebration at the Candle Light Restaurant
in honor of Mrs. Walter Chisholm and
Madeline Koviak.
was very interesting. They have 125 ewes
and this year raised two sets of quadruplet
lambs as well as twins and triplets.
A good fleece weighs about 10 pounds and
it costs $1.75 to shear each sheep. They sell
the wool to the Old Mill at Blyth.
It is a must to like animals if you go into
sheep raising for they require a lot of atten-
tion especially at lambing time. She was
thanked by Myrtle Kerr and presented with
a gift.
Myrtle Kerr gave two humorous readings,
So You Want To Be A Farmer and The
Farmer's Creed. Lunch was served by Ila
Crozier and Myrtle Kerr and a social time
followed:
