Fowler's late goal salvages
tie for Sherwood in
Recreational Ball Hockey
Andy Fowler scored his second goal of
the game at the 12:48 mark of -the second
Period to give Sherwood a 5-5 tie with the
Rebels in Goderich Recreational Ball
Hockey action last Thursday.
' Fowler's goal came just 16 seconds after
the Rebels had taken a 5-4 lead on a goal by
Perry Boak. Other scorers for the Rebels
were Tom Smith with two and Randy
Anderson and Darrin Moore with one
apiece.
Sherwood scorers were John Thompson
with two and Rick Anderson with one.
In other action, Warriors edged Brewers
3-2 on second period goals by Randy
Graham and Dave Fisher. Rob Kisch got
the other Warriors goal. Greg Leddy and
Steve Profit replied for the Brewers
In the other game on the Thursday night
slate, Park House tallied four consecutive
first period goals and then coasted to an 8-4
victory over the Iviaurauder s.
Mark Frayne had a four -goal night for
Park House,, while Dennis Dohaniuk
tallied .two, and Eric Mitchell and Phil
Petrie scored one apiece.
'The Maurauders got goals .from Darrin
Connelly, Ray Vanstone, Darrin Doak and
Hugh McMahon in the losing cause.
Pat Murphy wins Men's
Night with a score of 30.5
Better late than never I now report on e�-a
the events of men's night, July 7th. With a
field of 61 men out, Pat Murphy took net
prize with 301/2. Four good men and true
tied for first low gross: Don MacEwan,
Ken Hall, Bob Cornish, and Al MacDonald,
Alt with a 38. Ken Straughan was closest to
pin on No. 5. Other winners were Doug
Bundy, Fred Looker, Tom Jasper, John
Kane, Gerald Morgan, Bob Boak, Jack
Hinton, Ken Englestad and Don Mason.
There were 12 other winners as well, mak-
ing a total of 27 winners.
Ladies' Night on July 8th had a registra-
tion of 35. First Flight winners were Max-
ine Martin, Marie Huff and Bev Jeffery.
The .second flight prize winners were
Rosemarie .-. Evans, . Jean... Bell_ and Marg
Evans. Chris Hoffmeyer, Joyce Shack and
Jean Hanly were third flight winners and a
big fourth flight saw Gwen Trebish, Pat
Tyndall, Kay Kin§, Irla Stewart, Bud
Elliott, Johnine Strickland and Lynn Ed-
ward take prizes. Closest to the pin on No.
1 was Jean Knight; and Shelagh Sully
bombed out the longest drive on No. 9.
The mixed two -ball event had a smallish
turn out of 34 with winners Jean and Bill
Hanly, Geoff Harrison and Cheryl Webber,
Don Edward and Ardith Brissette, Sally
and Don MacEwan,,,Joan McDougall and

Tom Moore and finally Bob McDougall
and Sharon Moore. The two -ball event is
held every second week and generates a
lot of competition and fun.
Harold Refflinghaus scored first low net
on July 14' and Tony Bedard, first low
gross. •Other winners were Neil Shaw,
Fred Looker, Don Mason, Clive Caswell,
Pat Murphy, Bill ' Cochrane, Murray
McGill, Issy...Bedard, Ron Patterson,, Vic
Finnie, Doug Hesk- and $ill Graham.
Member -Guest day is to be held Wed. Aug.
20th.
Ladies night on July 15th took the form
of two -ball foursomes with names drawn
for partners. Winners were Bev Jeffrey
and Bertha MacGee, Auleen Curry and
Verna Kane, Maxine Martin and Jean
Hanly,. Jean Knight and Isobel Mac-
Donald, Pat Tyndall and Rosemarie
Evans and Edna Looker and Sally
MacEwan.
