vice groups by the Signal -Star to publicize
their events and activities for a two-week
period. If you would like a listing of your
group's event to appear please write the in-
formation on a piece of paper, as per the
listings below, giving the day and date of the
event followed by the pertinent information
in sentence form. The listing must be sub-
mitted on Mondays by 4 p.m. to gppear in
that week's edition of the paper. We ask that
readers either submit the written informa,
'tion in person or by mail.

AUGUST 1- is the deadline for contributions
of applied blocks to be assembled as quilts
and displayed as a permanent exhibit at the
Huron County Pioneer Museum. The theme
encompasses 35 years of the museum and
should pertain to artifacts. Fabric supplied

WEDNESDAYS- weekly euchre games all
summer long at the Dungannon Senior
Citizen Centre at 8 p.m. Admission $1 -bring
lunch.
SUNDAY, AUGUST 3- church service
recognizing Port Albert's 150th birthday will
take place at 10 a.m. in Port Albert's
Anglican Church. The ecumenical service
will have clergy from Roman Catholic,
United and , Anglican denominations. Bring
lawn chairs.
SATURDAY, JULY 26 and SATURDAY,

Country Fair
Blyth Festival's annual country
fair set to go this weekend
The Blyth Festival''s annual Country Fair
will be held on Saturday July 26, 10 a.m. - 5
pan., on the lawn of Blyth Memorial Hall.
All• the traditional stalls - fresh produce,
home -baked goods, books,. plants and good
used clothing will be there. Visitors will
have an opportunity to soak Artistic Direc-
tor Katherine Kaszas, and other members
of the company, in the dunking tank! Or
steal a kiss from members of the Young
Company at the kissing booth.
A `cake -walk' will be held again this year,
starting at 11:30 a.m., rvith'the' cakes being
auctioned at 1 p.m. to the highest bidders.
There will also be clowns, fortune-tellers,
and street artists.
Special activities for children include pup-
pet shows by Marian Doucette (at 10:30 a.m.
and 2 p.m.); lots of contests, including
paper - gliders, watermelon seed spitting,
and frog jumping; fish pond; and many
other•exciting events.
Anyone wishing to donate items for any of
the stalls may do so between 9 a.m. and 8:30
p.m.- at the Festival's offices. All proceeds
from the Country Fair .go towards Blyth
Festival capital projects. For further infor-

Swing 'n Stuff t
There is a new stop in the Huron County
entertainment tour. Summer visitors and
locals now need go no further for entertain-
ment than to the Livery Theatre in
Goderich.
On Friday, July 25, and Saturday, July 26,
Goderich Little Theatre begins the first of
three Cabaret weekends entitled "Swing 'n
Stuff". The other two weekends are August 1
and 2, and August 29 and 30.
The featured artists will be Jazzvox, a
group of six talented youths who specialize
in close vocal harmonies and music of the.
swing period.
t the Cabaret advertising proudly an-
nounces: "An evening of vocal music from
the time when Swing was King".
Swing 'n Stuff is the brainchild of Betty
Etue and Eleanor Robinson, who conceived
of the project as a way to meet several
needs - to provide some entertainment for
tourists and home town people; to make use
of Little Theatre's beautiful Livery during
the summer; and finally, to act as a show
case for local talent.
In addition to their own program of swing
music, Jazzvox will be calling up to the
stage Joyce Kuran, Earl Salter, and, for the
final weekend only, Bill Cochrane.
Joyce and Earl will perform solos and
duets from Goderich Little Theatre's recent
production "Anything Goes" - a guaranteed

Street, just behind the Bedford Hotel.
Bring your Teddy Bear to a picnic at the Falls
"If you go down to the Falls today, you're
in for a big surprise." All kinds of teddy
bears having a picnic and you, your family
and,your teddy bears are invited too!
The Teddy Bear's Picnic will be held on
Monday, Aug. 4 at the Falls Reserve Conser-
vation Area. There is free day use admis-
sion at the Falls Reserve for the day of this
special event. • ,
Registration is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.with
the fun beginning at 1 pan. There will be
prizes, donated by Goderich and area mer-
chants, for the best dressed teddy bear, the
oldest teddy, the most original name for a
teddy bear and that's not all!
Activities such as potato sack races,
obstacle races, guessing games and more
will provide fun for the family all afternoon.
Bring along a picnic supper to eud•an ex-
citing and,"bearable" day.
