Museum volunteers see project design
The meeting of the Huron County Museum
Volunteers took place Wednesday. morning,
July 9 with 15 people present. Howard Har-
ris, president, chaired the meeting, Dave
Thorn reported $231.78 in the bank.
Howard Harris commented on the fact the
• •Friends of the Museum" should have all
identification .card. All county council
members and those of the O.M.A. are admit-
ted to-tfie museum free 1 1 en
There is a list at the front desk of those who
are "Friends of the Museum" and in the
near future the members will be issued a
card.
Blaine White told the group of the inten-
tion of 'the quilt committee to give out
material blocks on which one can design
something depicting the last 35 years at the
Museum. These blocks will be put together
and quilted into a quilt which will be hung on
a wall of the new museum building:
The quilt show at the museum will take
place Aug. 22 -, Sept. 12. Opening night Fri-
day evening will be for moi a tgUeats only.
The highlight of the meeting was a review,
of the Preliminary Design of the Huron •
County Museum presented by the Project
Director of the Museum, Claus Breede.

concept that meets the museum re-
quirements. The design was also shown the
same evening to County Council members
and all interested general public.

and screen.

Sue Bell seconded the motion: Ross Merrill
adjourned the meeting.
Tour views conservation projects
On July 23, the Maitland Valley Conserva-
tion Authority will hold a bus tour of a
number of conservation areas and ongoing
projects in the watershed. The tour will be
attended by Authority ' members, local
municipal representatives and other
dignitaries.
"The purpose of the tour is to give people
a chance to view the development work be-
ing carried out in conservation areas, and
on other special projects, and ongoing pro -
„grams” said Les Tervit, generalmanager of
the M.V.C.A.
The tour will take guests to the Wawanosh
Conservation Education Centre, Falls
Reserve Conservation Area, the Goderich
Bluffs Erosion Control Project, the Listowel
Conduit Reconstruction Project and a
number of other areas.
Included on thedaylong outing will be the
Official opening of the Galbraith Conserva-
tion Area in Mornington Township. The
short, informal ribbon, cutting and tree plan-
ting ceremony will•niark the end of over 10
years of development at the camping and
day use park by the M.V.C.A.
Hugh Edighoffer, M.P.P. for Perth Coun-
ty will officially open the site. Jack Gr
and' Harold Cosens, former M.V:C.
Chairmen have been invited to assist
Edighoffer.
The public are invited to the official open-
ing.It will be held at approximately 2:30
p.m. at the Galbraith Conservation Area, 15
kms south of Listowel, o f Highway 86 on the
