Congratulations to Gary T. Shuttleworth,
minister of Knox United Church, who
received his Bachelor of Arts Degree
recently from the University of Windsor. ,
Mr. and Mrs. Mark Gardhouse and baby,
Gillian of Toronto, visited on Saturday with
their aunt Beth Lansing.
Congratulations to these Auburn area
students who won awards at Hallett Central
School. They are Leona Cunningham, Grade
8 English, Elvis Vincent, Grade 8 Industrial
Arts, Anita Gross, Grade 8 Proficiency and
Lana Lawrence, Grade 7 Proficiency.
Everett Youngblutt of St. Thomas called
on Mr. and Mrs: Tom Lawlor on Sunday.

ducted the morning Service at Knox United
Church on. Sunday.
Nancy Park sang a solo, Be Not Afraid,
accompanied on piano by Mr . Gordon
Gross on the organ.
The minister chose for his sermon the
topic, Following The Stream. Offering was
received by Lawrence -P1aetzer and Brian
Ramsey.
Julia Glenn, Sharon Ramsey and Karep
Bakker taught the children in the Sunday
School rooms during the service.

Auburn U.C.W. met on Wednesday even-
ing, June 25 in the church basement. Mrs.
Peter Verbeek opened the meeting with an
Indian poem. Marjorie McDougall was
pianist!
Love and Life was the meditation given by
Mrs. Verbeek, which touched on the
teachings of Nehru and work of Gandhi.
Offering was received by Mrs. R. Koop-
man and Mrs. T. Jardin.
Mrs. Ross Dobie introduced the guest
speaker, Rev. Daniel Abraham, President.
of the Evangelical Churches of India. He
told abcut his work in Northern India and
showed slides of temples of rous
religions, the transportation sy� and
schools.
During the business period, it was decided
to donate a quilt to the Glenn family who
recently had a fife in their home. •
Knox WMS will take a buy trip
Knox WMS afternoon Auxiliary met in
the church June 17 and enjoyed a pot -luck
luncheon.
President "Ethel McAllister opened the
meeting and members of the executive gave
their reports,
The WMS will be in charge of Sunday Ser-
vice November 2.
Plans were finalized for the bus trip June
25 visiting Kintail Camp, Hurbn, Feathers
and Southampton.
Edna Pollock had charge of the devotion.
Joyce Garrick read the scripture and Jean
Murchison gave a talk on crafts made by the
self taught native Indians. She showed pic-
tures relating to their work in art; painting,
stone cutting, birch bark, porcupine quills
and jewellery.

In co-operation with Colborne Ses-
quicentennial Committee Robert Sherwood
will run a. bus service from Goderich on
Saturday, July 19 for the Colborne Township
Sesquicentennial parade. This is a free com-
munity service for senior citiaens from
Goderich. For more information as to when
,and where phone 524-7622.
An area under the Maple Trees at Col-
borne Central School will be reserved for
any senior citizens so they may fully enjoy
the parade. If possible bring your lawn

men who 'have entered the ministry par-

Notice
Re Passing Tree Cutting By -taw
The new County of Huron tree cutting by-law, being Eyalaw No. 23,
1986, became effective April 4, 1986.
The main changes' from the previous by-law are
1) clarification of the measurement provisionsin determining
whether a tree has been cut undersized; and
2) a requirement that every person, logger or fuelwood cutter
who is planning to cut trees for purchase or sale shall notify the
County Clerk's office in the prescribed form at least five (5) work-
ing days prior to any cutting.
Copies of the by-law may'`iae obtained, free of charge, from the Clerk's
office or the Tree Commissioner.
