Mrs. Isabel Carter and family of London
recently called on her sister Jean
Broughton. The Carter family were on their
return from Stokes Bay. Also calling were
son Don and 'Jane Broughton, Becky and
Robert of London. Robert celebrated his
first birthday on June 9. Tom and Delores
Culbert were dinner guests with Jean on
Sunday.
Congratulations to Don and Karen Boak
on the birth of Ashley at Wingham hospital
on Monday, June 16. Proud grandparents
are Jim and Phyllis Boak of R.R. 1
Dungannon.
Peter Kawalicki returned on Friday from
a three week visit to his homeland of Poland
and Russia. Tom and Delores Culbert and
Jean Broughton met him at London airport.
While in London they visited with Don and
Jane Broughton, Becky and Robert.
A few of our local seniors attended the lun-
cheon held on Tuesday, June 17 at Huron -
view. Those who enjoyed the music provid-
ed by the Huron Strings and others were
Eldon Culbert, Evelyn Errington, Jean
Broughton and Tom and Delores Culbert.

The Dungannon Post Office has been mov-
ed to the Saxony Carpet store located beside
the Imperial Bank, of Commerce on the
main street. For those who enjoy the use of
the library, Irvine Eedy still operates this
from the store on Thursday afternoon.
Katie Bendig, daughter of Mike and Val
Bendig, celebrated her second birthday on
Sunday with a party at home in Goderich.
Grampa and Gramma Bill and Marie Park
and Brad, Tom Park and Tim and Wanda
Hodges from Dungannon attended as well as
her aunts and uncles in Goderich.

Barn dance is great
Saturday's CKNX Barndance was a huge
success; the entertainment was well receiv-
ed and enjoyed by all. Even the weatherman
cooperated by providing good weather until
the end of the dance.
The ten princesses, representing various
businesses in the community, presented a
difficult decision to judges: Mr: Bob,Shrier,
Mrs. Lois Ottewell and Mrs: Dawna
Richardson. After a lovely tribute to all the
girls from Mr. Bob Shrier, the awards were
made. Mary Lynn Doherty , received the
Miss Friendship Award, Mia Dalton -
Honourable Mention, Mary Lynn Doherty -
Second Runnerup, Laurie Hayden - First
Runnerup and Jane Haskell - Miss Port
Albert. Jane, who is the daughter of Doug
and Pat Haskell, will definitely give our
festivities a crowning touch. Congratula-
tions to Kelly Brindley, Pauline Nicholson
and Diane MacLean for a well organized
„event.

Church June 28th from 10 a.m. — 2 p.m.

Janet Marie Young, of 96 Nelson Street,
Goderich, daughter of Raymond and Bar-
bara Young, of 134 Palmerston Street,
Goderich and Philip Charles Arthur, son of
Keith and Verna Arthur, of RR5 Goderich
were married May 3, 1986 at St. Peter's
Roman Catholic Church with Father J. Har-
dy officiating. Matron of honor was Sandra
Taggart, of Goderich, friend of the bride and
bridesmaids were Ruth Cunningham, friend
of the.l$rifle and Lynn Fitzgerald, cousin of
the bride, both of Goderich. Flowergirl was
Meaghan Marshall, friend of the bride and
groom, of Goderich. Ronald Arthur, brother
of the groom, of Pickering, was groomsman
and ushers were Paul Young, brother of the
bride, of Toronto and Michael Lajeunesse,
friend of the groom, of Goderich. Soloist was
Evelyn Brocklebank, of Scarborough and
organist was Dennis Brocklebank, of Ajax.
The reception was held at the Goderich
Township Hall, Holmesville. After a wed-
ding trip to Scotland, the couple will reside

Gardeners
discuss bugs

The Port Albert I Club held their fourth
meeting on June 17, at 7:30 p.m., at the
home of Stephanie and Duane Durnin.
Topics discussed were insects, diseases,
companion planting, methods of preserv-
ing food such as freezing and drying. Also
they talked about the 4-H trip to Canada's
Wonderland.
A club name has not been decided on yet.
The results of the average rainfall and
temperature within a period of five weeks
was recorded.
Before it became dark, the club took a
look at Stephanie and Duane's garden.

Public Meetings
Shoreline Management Review
The Government of Ontario has established the Shoreline Man-
agement Review Committee for the purpose of seeking public
opinions and suggestions on the long-term options for the
management of shorelines of the Great Lakes in Ontario.
The Committee will examine the options and make recommen-
dations on:

levels of the government and shoreline landowners;
• preventing the creation of new shoreline problems;
• solving existing problems in built-up areas;
• providing assistance during emergency situations.
The Committee will also make recommendations to the Province
on how the Province may better interact with the Governments of
Canada and the United States in the management of the Great
Lakes system.
Meetings
Public meetings have been scheduled in various centres along
the shorelines of the Great Lakes. You are invited to attend and
make written and/or oral presentations at the'tneetings which are
scheduled in your area.
